Extract of sample "The Appalachian Mountains Place"

The lower ranges of the Appalachian Mountains have been carved downwards. The Appalachian Mountains are distributed in four major sections, these are the Appalachian plateau, ridge and valley, Blue Ridge, and Piedmont. Mount Mitchel is the uppermost summit point located along the low mountain range estimated at approximately 6,684 feet. The ridges are the hallmark of the Appalachian ridges. The Valley and Ridge and the Blue Ridge are made of rock formation that is narrow and differentiates the mountains from the neighboring valleys. The ridge tops extend to over a thousand feet above the neighboring valleys and are surrounded by serrated and rough sandstones. The top level of the valleys in the Appalachian Mountains are composed of shales and siltstones. A great portion of the Appalachian Mountains is covered in thick forest trees that form a canopy all over the mountain range. On a higher level of the mountain, it is engulfed in evergreen forests consistent with spruce and fir. On the other hand, the lower regions of the mountain are covered by trees with broad leaves like oaks and beeches.
