The primary challenge is lack of enough qualified personnel to help the youth. To run a division like ours, it requires psychologists and counselors, who in this case are limited. There is also a problem of inadequate funding. The programs are meant to help the youth achieve long-term goals. It, therefore, takes a lot of time and resources to complete our schedules fully. The national and county government is, however, supporting the initiative as much as they can. There are also challenges, such as re-arresting youths for committing other crimes. When the number of those rearrested is high, we are forced to review the effectiveness of our program.

What would be your advice to the parents and the general public?

They should not rely on the intervention of the juvenile justice system alone. Taking care of the youth is a collective project for all the players in our society. Parents should monitor their children's behavior on a regular basis. It helps in identifying when your son or daughter starts to behave unacceptably. The key institutions, such as religious places and schools should also develop programs that support the youth to stay out of trouble. In case you notice the adverse behavioral change in your child, seek the intervention of the various juvenile programs available in our city. To our young youths, be on the lookout for one another.

Conclusion

Overall, in both Loss Angeles and New York City, the police are relied upon heavily to control young youths from committing juvenile crimes. Police officers are encouraged to forge a good relationship with the teenagers in both cities. For example, the police participate in community-based services and activities where they spend time with young members of the society. These builds a good relationship, and the police can identify most youths with their names. In case a young youth requires police guidance, they stand at a better position to approach a police officer.

There are two cities use different and unique programs for juveniles' delinquency prevention. Nonetheless, the problems leading to juvenile delinquency are common. Poverty and drug abuse are factors that stand out as causes of juvenile delinquency in the two areas. Though the programs are efficient, the general public needs awareness on them. There should be campaigns around the cities, the schools, and the worship places notifying them about these programs. The use of available resources and help from federal governments controlled organizations such as intelligence agency, and the cybersecurity departments is an efficient way of fighting juvenile related crimes.

Lastly, the juvenile justice system needs a recommendation for the excellent work they do to help the young youths. The youths are our future leaders and the hope of generation continuity. Many harmful activities endanger this generation. Juvenile detention services are a serious part of every American. Large amounts of taxpayer's money are spent in funding these programs as shown in the tables below in the Appendix. Parents, teacher, police departments, religious leaders and the government should join hands as never before in making sure that juvenile conviction drop.
