This week's assignment of writing a marketing plan taught me a lot about the importance of the marketing function. I wrote a marketing plan for the Blackberry Mobile Company. In the marketing plan, I prepared a thorough introduction of the company and what the products and services the firm offers. Customers need to know about the company's products in order to determine whether its products are attractive. By investigating the company I was able to learn what made this company successful. A very important part of the marketing plan was determining the size of the target market. The main product that the marketing plan was offering to customers was a comprehensive planner called Comp Plan. This product is going to be offered to any interested buyers, but the emphasis of the firm is to target college students. During the process of writing the marketing plan, I thought of different potential customers for this product, but college students were the ideal target.
