Terror Terror can be defined as a shock/ a horror/ panic/ dread or fear with power or force to bring out a feeling of acute stress, struggle or an escape response rather than coherent thinking (The free dictionary).I am a person who is doesn't get terrified or panic easily by any kind of situation I am posed to. I really used to boast for my courage to face any severe or grave circumstances. Like everyone, I am also a human being and have emotions for people and for the belongings I care for. I am particular in my things and do expect everyone to be like me.

This nature of mine has put me in trouble many a times but with my courage and witty temperament I could gain success in overcoming the disaster so I was never terrified by anything as I firmly believe in myself and my abilities. This belief of mine was shattered when one of my friends was badly bitten by a rabid dog and after a few days he died because of the non-availability of appropriate treatment. The incidence occurred when we all were on an educational trip, where we were asked to live and sleep in tents and were exploring out things.

My friend was a group leader and therefore he was marching ahead of the crew. Suddenly, while he was passing the stretch of lonely area a rabid dog appeared and my friend out of fear and panic he threw a stone on the dog. The dog turned furious and attacked my friend. We all were in a group and following him as we were behind him. We also got freeze after witnessing the incidence. After the preliminary first-aid, he was immediately rushed to the hospital which was 2 hrs from their place.By the time he reached the hospital it was late and injections were not available in the stock.

He was crying in pain and panic and no one could help him to relieve his sufferings except for the first-aid. It is really pity and sad when you see someone dying in front of your eyes and you cannot help. The incidence was enough to inculcate panic and fear in my mind for the dogs. Whenever I see a dog, I get terrified by it and the whole incidence rewinds in front of my eyes. It is a panic and fear that stops the brain to act and take the immediate appropriate action. And the panic makes a person to develop paranoid disposition even if the things are not going wrong.

I know that terror inside me is not good for my health but still the terror has given a deep impact on my emotions and my abilities. It has shaken my confidence to certain extent, as I am not able to take the initiative to walk alone in dark night on the road. It has traumatized me very much. Although I am trying hard to revive and come out of this terror and panic but at the same time I really feel that this trauma is faced by many or probably by thousands of sufferers who witness such incidence when they or their near ones do not get medication when they are in real need.

We say that we are progressing but when we are on real need of facilities why we are deprived of them. It leads to death of the ailing and terror in the minds of people around him who are living and they are forced to live with a thought that they can be the next victim tomorrow!References:The Free Dictionary, http://www.thefreedictionary.com/terror
