Nurses play a critical role in the promotion of public healthcare. This concept of healthcare promotion was developed to emphasize the need for community-based practice in healthcare, provide awareness, and increase community participation in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle through social and health policies. In this context, the health fair will address awareness of metabolic syndrome diseases, their causes, their symptoms, and how they can be prevented. Screening will be offered to assess risks for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, and BMI. Additionally, workshops on healthy nutrition, dieting, and physical activity will be offered. Nurses will be concerned with attending to the public. At the same time, non-paramedical staff will engage themselves in ensuring that the health practitioners respect the law while working and respect the data protection and confidentiality of the patients. For this reason, a set of Advanced Practice (AP) roles and competencies will come in handy to ensure the health fair's success.

Direct clinical practice refers to the direct interaction between nurses and the patients, their families, or friends in the promotion of health to improve their quality of life. It is the central and primary competency in advanced practice nursing and shapes the other competencies' execution. To consult, collaborate, and lead the other clinical staff, an advanced practice nurse (APN) must have clinical credibility. Therefore, nurses will need to be equipped with the necessary expertise, professional knowledge, and skills to prevent clinical nursing problems that may occur concerning health screening, assessment, health education, promotion of recovery, and medication if otherwise ignored.
Coaching and guidance refer to the distinct approaches used by nurses to aid a patient in decision-making. Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions that may accelerate the risk of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. The rising prevalence of this disease has been associated with poor diet and physical inactivity. Proper guidance and coaching from the nurses at the fair will be central to establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patients to offer advice about healthy lifestyles in the prevention of the disease to reduce personal, social, economic, and community burdens.

Nursing leadership refers to influencing other nurses to exercise quality care to direct participation with the patients. It is a fundamental component that will be used to drive up the team's motivation, performance, and, consequently, the public's satisfaction. Building upon this logic, the managing nurse in charge of the fair will have to have a solid understanding of his or her nursing leadership style to promote success in the participating team's management, thus ultimately driving proper care and service to the public. The necessary competencies that will be needed by the managing nurse are social intelligence, interpersonal and emotional skills, courage, conflict management, and decision marketing. Nurse leaders will be responsible for the successful completion of the fair, and these role-playing skills will be essential to enhance effective leadership.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) refers to collecting patient data, processing, and evaluating research findings to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes in the existing work environment. Some of the nurses will need to collect and process patients' data in the firm. These nurses' key competencies will include the effective use of communication and information advancements to acquire, retrieve, interpret, and manipulate data. For instance, nurses will be required to come up with effective data collection tools that will evaluate the public's past medical information, collect and record the data, and present it in an easy way for the registered nurses to analyze and advise accordingly.

Lastly, utilizing ethical principles in decision-making will significantly help in having an educational and interactive event. Throughout the event, nurses may encounter ethical dilemmas that may cause a considerable amount of stress on them as they struggle to take the right action for each challenging situation. The different competencies that nurses can utilize during this situation include; beneficence, autonomy, non-maleficence, and justice. For example, nurses should accept the decisions that these patients may make during the event if they do not align with the guidance and information the nurses have given to them. Additionally, they should ensure that they offer fair and equal service to all the people who attend the fair despite their family background and financial status.
