This is one of the elements of the movie that is very important in the development of the plot in the future compositions. The script had a lot of inbuilt sensuality that was accentuated by the presence of the Mediterranean settings in the film. It played a great part in the conceptualization of the premise of the movies. It also leads to the friction between the multiple elements of the story. This involves the numerous affairs of the central protagonist, Juliette. Her intentions are very open in terms of the level of sexual energy. It is also progressive of the theme of the story. The placement of the Tardieu family is due to the fact that it is a Mediterranean set-up . So, Juliette meets up with the elder son of the Tardieu, she falls in live with him. But, the elder son spurns the advances of the protagonist and has a short fling with her. Now, the growing rebellion from the main character is also seen to have increased by the setting of the movie. Ultimately, the marriage happens with the younger son; who could approach the protagonist. The main themes of the story and the drama are set in the Mediterranean.
