Stakeholder Management Affiliation Stakeholder Management Management of stakeholder is essential in designing operation management strategies. Numerous strategies have been developed to increase stakeholder management efficiency for organizations. Recent additions to the stakeholder management include management and control of stakeholder engagement (Sowden, 2011). The two approaches mainly provide for objectives to be considered with stakeholder partnership and collaboration. Manage Stakeholder Engagement The approach mainly aims at increasing the positivity in the relationship with stakeholders by understanding their needs and expectations, and how they can be provided under existing and agreed objectives.

Sowden (2011) is of the argument that partnering with stakeholders requires understanding of what the stakeholders require, and the ability of the organization to match these expectations. The first management process is identification of stakeholders. The stakeholder selected should be able to match the needs and objective of the organization. On the other hand, Stakeholder should abide by the provisions provided for the partnership to exist. After selection stakeholders should then be prioritized based on what they offer to bring to the partnership.

Prioritization is based on the needs of the organizations and how much the stakeholders offer. Understanding the key stakeholders is then required in order to create a proper engagement framework (Roland, 2006). Key principles are then identified. In addition, organizational stakeholders are also identified to increase engagement approaches used during the process of stakeholder engagement. Communication and engagement with stakeholders is then instigated to create a long term interaction all way through the entire project.

Control Stakeholder Engagement This process is mainly aimed at understanding the overall stakeholder relationship and amends strategies for stakeholder engagement. Lock (2007) asserts that control stakeholder engagement control stakeholder engagement is beneficial since across a project both external and internal environment changes and adjustment are required to ensure the objectives of the project are attained. Inputs and outputs are stated to understand if the stakeholder relationship requires changing to incorporate existing changes.

Inputs include Project management plan, Issue log, project documents and work performance data. Outputs are change requests, work performance information, project management plan updates and project document updates. The importance of control stakeholder engagement and manage stakeholder engagement in the organization are mainly based on ensure project objectives are met within the specified period of time. The organization understands what is required from the stakeholder relationship until the project is complete.

In an argument by Turner (2014) the engagement approaches provide an overview of what project completion requires in regards to the partnership with stakeholders. Most importantly, organization or project managers are able to detect any new or unexpected requirements as the project continues. I support the decision by the PMI to include the processes in the PMBOK guide. This is based on that project managers are required to protect an organization from unexpected risks from stakeholder partnerships.

Through these processes the issues is effectively addressed as the stakeholder engagement is analyzed and evaluated over time until project completion. Consequently, the processes are a significant inclusion to the PMBOK guide. References Lock, D. (2007). Project Management. New York: Gower Publishing Ltd. Roland, G. (2006).
