Today, I shall talk about cloud computing. I have structured my presentation around five areas; the first is the introduction, then comes cloud acceptance, followed by cloud attraction to IT implementers, then virtual infrastructure, and finally cloud rejection. IT gurus administer the fused cloud platforms using advanced knowledge of the virtual servers and virtualization skills.

(After reading the slide) let me explain this with the help of a diagram: Organizations that use cloud services can be categorized into three types based on their size; mega enterprises, large enterprises, and medium enterprises. Cloud services used by them are of different kinds including collaboration, software services, desktops and infrastructure, and disaster recovery backup. Here, you can notice that while many enterprises are already using these kinds of services, there is a substantial number of organizations that are considering using these services, which indicates that cloud computing is growing in popularity. The diagram suggests that among the enterprises that currently use cloud computing services, collaboration is most popular, followed by desktops and infrastructure, then discovery recovery backup, and lastly the software services whereas among the enterprises considering the use of cloud services, desktops and infrastructure is the most popular service, followed by software services while collaboration and disaster recovery backup are equally popular and come after the first two in popularity.

Cloud Attraction to IT implementers
Cloud computing is of immense significance and value to IT implementers because of the benefits its offers which include but are not limited to work efficiencies, support, enhanced productivity, and low-cost initiatives. More benefits of cloud computing are illustrated in the sixth slide.

Virtual Infrastructure
Cloud computing’s property of virtualization functions most efficiently at the minimization of the cost and complications of IT operations. Numerous other advantages have worked for virtualization that primarily includes improved accessibility, virtual maturity, larger data storage capacities, mobility, and efficiency.

IT executives invest in cloud initiatives for a variety of reasons including saving money, increased predictability of costs, improved IT customer service, increased productivity, and standardized IT. As you can see in the diagram, the prime motivation behind investing in cloud initiatives is the minimization of cost and saving of money. Increased predictability of costs and improved IT customer service are equally strong motivators following the saving of money. IT staff supports the cloud initiatives to be more efficient, work with the latest technology, improve IT customer service, maintain a current set of skills, and minimize the complexity of the job. There is variation among the decision maker and implementer IT staff’s motivations behind supporting the cloud initiatives as evident from the graph. Except for the motivation of keeping the set of skills current, there is a greater number of the decision-maker IT staff that is motivated by all of the aforementioned factors as compared to the implementer IT staff. This speaks of the fact that these factors play an important role in the decision-making in the IT departments.

Cloud rejection
One factor that is interrupting the benefits of cloud computing is the high-cost purchases for the measures of security, server support, and other software providing optimum performing network connectivity. In addition to that, common fears faced by business organizations using cloud computing services include the possible losses, distortion, theft, and redistribution of their clients’ and operational secrets that are stored on the virtual infrastructure. Threats of its complications and complexity in use, with regards to some of its users, hinder its progression and full acceptability. It is expected that in case of any complications, the service providers are contacted; this is a further complication users are not given full control. For the making of this presentation, the research survey and analysis used were both qualitative and quantitative to ensure comprehensive data presented data presentation of Cloud Computing Applicability.
