It is not advisable to confront employees since that can be a source of conflict in the organization. The study also points out that global HR perspectives should be accommodative of people from diverse cultural backgrounds. This is very important since it helps people to identify with the organization. The paper includes a conclusion about the measures that can be taken by MEGlobal to address the problems it is currently facing. Introduction Managing human resources issues in organizations that are comprised of people from different nations is quite challenging as a result of the fact that the cultures of these people differ.

Human resource management policies in multi-national or international organizations ought to be standardized so as to create fair working conditions among employees from different cultures. As such, this paper has been designed to analyse a culturally challenging situation at MEGlobal, one of the world's leading producers and marketers of monethylene glycol. This paper begins by describing the case study and then offers a critical analysis of the cultural challenges, which include four employees who have body and mouth odor, and a bad-smelling pantry, the result of microwaving a variety of ethnic foods.

Situational analysis The situation in this case is critical. MEGlobal is an international company with offices in the USA, Canada, Switzerland, China, Hong Kong and Dubai, which serves as headquarters. The Dubai office faces hygiene issues that need to solved. addressed without offending four of the employees who have bad body and mouth odor to the point that it has become difficult for other people to conduct business with them. Within the office, employees are speaking badly about the four offending co-workers.

The other problem is a smelly pantry. Since MEGlobal employs people from different ethnic backgrounds at its headquarters, and those people microwave ethnic foods in the pantry and it smells. MEGobal is seeking a solution for both problems. The company reports that the four people with odor are are hardworking employees and very good in their respective jobs. The company does not want to give the four employees reason to seek employment elsewhere. However, the company also recognizes that it is losing productivity because the smelly employees, and the smelly pantry, are creating conflicts among all employees.

The resuting negative talk and ill feelings are harmful to the morale in the office. Therefore, the solution to the problem must follow as this is likely to affect the operations of the organization. A fine balance between the needs of the employees as well as the company should be created so that the company does not lose productivity, which translates to profit, and the employees are not offended. Therefore, for MEGlobal, the management should ensure that the issue of body and pantry odor are solved so as to satisfy the needs of the other employees who feel comfortable working in the same office with these employees.
