Cognitive development consultant report QUESTION There has been rising cases of parents having challenge in understanding developments process that takes place in their children. The challenge has been more common especially in new parents. Therefore, devising ways that can help parents have a deeper understanding of the child developmental process is crucial. The paper seeks in addressing some of these challenges. It is clear that various misconceptions exist of new parents have concerning developmental milestones.

One of mostly held misconception by these new parents is the right time of various developmental stages to be achieved by their children. The misconception has led to most parents engaging in ways that could enhance achievement of these stages. This has led to the total disregard of other aspects. Secondly, new parents lack understanding of various factors that may have an influence on child social and emotional development. Many lack idea how these aspects may influence their children in a positive or a negative way.

Such parents may lack information that some of these aspects influence their children at an early stage and affect their future. Others may disregard such aspects with a notion that they are likely to influence their children later in life. Moreover, new parents do not understand how other people have a significant influence on children life. Other people may include those that closely associate with a child at a tender age. Such people have a significant influence on child social, emotional well being.

Hence, there is crucial information that parents should learn about child development. One of key area that parents should learn is how nature interacts with genes in shaping various aspects of a child during development. Secondly, parents should understand the roles played by various stages in child development. For example, it is crucial to parents to understand that both crawling and walking have a role in child wellbeing. Hence, each point of development confer certain advantages and helps in overall well being of a child.

There is no point should be ignored such as putting more emphasis on walking than crawling. Secondly, parents should understand that one factor of development leads into another. For example, as noted in the article there are factors that need to be attained for a child to be able to walk. For an infant to be able to walk, he or she must have achieved optimal body weight and balance on one of the legs in the previous stage. On the other hand, parents need to understand that the learning process in children occurs because of sensory-motor events.

Such factors have a direct association with the world. Therefore, parents need to understand activities that can help children physical being, as well as cognitive development. Understanding these crucial aspects will be necessary for new parents. Understanding will help parents to know what is relevant to child development process. For example, a parent may learn necessary things that are likely to trigger child cognitive development. I will evaluate the success of this proposal by visiting some of the parents to know how they perceive and try to influence children development.

I will note whether they have adopted right ways that can influence positive social and emotional being of their infants.
