Fashion 190- Now Fashion is a movement or a concept that is not static but keeps on evolving. It is an art of flattering and decoration the human form, with fabrics being its paint and bodies being its canvas. Fashion is about pushing the style boundaries while still honoring the master’s traditions. It is more of being artistic and stylistic and being less practical. It enables people to show their attitude by choosing what they wear. Fashion is a form of communication whereby people put their personality at everything they do in terms of what they wear (Cathy, n.d). Fashion influences people’s lives and creates a style to everything being worn.

This comes along with the trend of wearing things that are latest in the market. Fashion comes for just a period and then fades away. It also limits a person in terms of dressing whereby a person may wear something that feels uncomfortable but will wear it anyway because it is the current trend. On the other hand, dress is necessarily grounded. It is practically interpreting fashion. Dress has no era, no trend and no duration. Dressing is a private and personal activity and enables an individual to make his or her own decision.

A person has the chance of sensitively and tactfully dressing up without much pressure from other people. Dress helps a person maintain their choice, express their personal style and identity while ensuring that they stay comfortable, and warm (Michaela, 2013). When dressing up, a person has the opportunity to complement personal coloring based on their skin, or hair color. One can dress according to their body proportion or shape so as to create appearance of a balanced body. Dressing helps a person to learn what is right for what occasion.
