The paper "Translating Accounting Information System Skills into Careers " is a great example of finance and accounting coursework. To work in an organization where I can use the knowledge and skills learned in the accounting information system including communication skills, business process architectural skills, and electronic business skills, financial and accounting skills (Hall, 2011, p. 103). The courses have enabled me to understand the enterprise resource planning systems, and general ledger processes which are vital in the payment process and payroll preparations. Additionally, I wish to work in a vibrant organization where I will utilise the enterprise risk management skills, problem-solving skills which I gained through solving various assignments in the accounting information system classes.
Moreover, the knowledge enhanced my social responsibilities through the various ethical frameworks I learnt in the accounting information systems classes (Worrell et al. , 2013, p. 129). The enterprise risk management skills include management of information systems and business operations as well as systems development and database management. The experience from the various management classes in accounting information systems enabled me to understand the governance of information technology enables projects in order to achieve excellent performances in an organization (Tavani, 2007, 23).
For example, COBIT 5 helps in the proper management of IT-enabled projects which are important in increasing company performance. The practical skills enable me to be in a better position to spearhead and plan the financial activities in an organization. In addition, the skills are useful in organizing and coordination of financial audits in my business organizations. The excellent coordination and organizational skills in information systems enable me to have a strong foundation in the control of event processing, business control and operations as well as making influence management decisions.
This is through knowledge gained during the business reporting process and enterprises system classes which offered me the foundation knowledge in business reporting tools. Translating Accounting information system Skills into Careers The knowledge and practices, which are gained in the accounting information systems, can be used in various companies such as consulting firms, insurance companies, multinational corporations, financial institutions, government agencies and other account-related careers in the business world. The individuals with accounting information system knowledge a practice are able to manage businesses and hold influential management and control position in order to manage business operations and govern projects related to information technology and accounts (Wetfeet, 2008, p.
14). Banking Industry The business process, operation skills, enterprise risk management skills and electronic business skills in the accounting information system are crucial in the banking industry (Hall, 2011, p. 148) Bank managers, system analysis, marketing in the banking industry require accounting skills in order to perform their duties. The accounting information system can be translated into careers in the banking sectors.
The governance of information system, which is learnt in the enterprise and e-business materials and practical skills, is useful in governing the important customer information in the banking industry. This means that the ERP system skills, COSO skills are useful in business control mechanisms (Baltzan et al. , 2013, p. 47). The bank manager is required to have skills in managing information systems for all customers in the bank (Worrell et al. , 2013, p. 132). In addition, bank managers should be able to use information technology to manage the employee’ s data and operations.
The integration of accounting information technology in e-business haw allows banks in various parts of the world to transact their business online. The knowledge and practice gained in the maintenance of information databases can be employed in the maintenance of client accounts in banking careers. This is where bank managers and banking staffs are able to maintain online databases using the knowledge and skills from the accounting materials and practices. The accounting information systems educate individuals with the knowledge in preparing financial statements, which are useful in the management of financial statements of account holders in a bank.
This requires good management of information systems and accountancy which will enhance proper management of account records. The management of information system utilises the ERP system skills as well as the business reporting processes learnt in practical skills. In general, the accounting skills learned in the accounting information system is necessary for developing careers in the banking sector.
