This essay will produce three promotional ideas for advertising i. e. a window display design for a mall setting, a speciality media item, and a billboard.

In designing a mall setting’ s windows display, an important and critical ingredient of visual merchandising in the configuration should provide an eye-catching attraction (d’ Astous 2000, pg.

150). This window design stimulates both emotional and rational motivation. Indicating elements in the design comprises of complexity, interest, attractiveness, differentiation, arousal, taste, product value, pricing level, and product worth. Description of the Ad According to Berman and Joel (2001, pg. 17), adhering to design attributes is of great importance to the window display. In the above ad, color is an attribute that captures immediate attention of an observer. The lighting used in the design establishes moods and reduces trivial areas whilst stressing others. In addition, the use of light, multiple displays of merchandise has created effective and cognitive impacts on viewers at an enhanced level.

The material used in the design enhances the beauty of the window display. The display’ s composition comprises the configuration of forms, colour, and shapes leading to a pleasant view. This directs the eye of the viewer to the different pieces and of the setting and passes the intended message. The props included visually supports other items being displayed (Machleit, Eroglu 2000, pg. 102).

The merchandise creates harmony in this window display. All these design elements are integrated to develop 3D photographic images. In this design, the arrangement of the clothing products, having props and considerable window size are critical design components, which influence the perception of the viewers. By analysing this design, it is evident that the use of huge window sizes and beautifying with props creates affective, cognitive, and conative effects on the subject’ s perception (Crilly, Maier & Clarkson 2008, pg. 15). The diverse display of the product affects the subjects’ observation on the clothing products whereas composition, background colour and in-store visibility creates both cognitive and affective effects towards the perception of the subjects on the quality, placing, and importance of products. Elements in Window display Settings The design of a window’ s display for a mall setting intends to sell women’ s fashionable and eccentric designs comprising of clothing and footwear including women’ s clutch bags.

The display of women’ s apparel reveals the specific elements geared to meet the clothing needs of a modern woman.
