    • Business Process Overview

The business process involves a set of defined activities or behaviours that are carried out by individuals or machines to realise one or more set goals (Chang 2006). In context, a process involves a series of steps or actions that are performed to achieve a specific purpose of the goal. The quest to achieve set goals is triggered by the fact that improved performance is required within the organisational context, backed with efficiency and maximum utilisation of available resources (Mansar and Reijers 2007). From a critical perspective, a process has the capacity to describe the way things are conducted and perfected to reap increased performance through mapping strategy. Process mapping offers an organisational analysis approach and competence of delivering methodical outputs (Biazzo 2002). However, the selection method of analysis, planning and execution approaches determines the effectiveness of process mapping. Thus, there is a need for strategic and effective measures to lay down the process mapping process to come with workable achievements. Process mapping can be termed as an analytical tool that is mostly utilised in process improvement professionals (Collins 1997).
