Business Models, & Cross-Cultural Experiences Problem The case study highlights a dilemma facing the founder of thecompany in which it scientific foundation has not been proven but has a high potential of growth because of immense demand. Regardless of this uncertainty, the company is bound for growth because the demand for wrinkle reducing devices is substantially high. The proposed price of $55,000 for home versions models is not reasonable considering the wrinkle removal option a potential customer has while $500 for office treatments are is reasonable enough because the options being offered by competing option is within the same range.

The annual quantity can be estimated by picking up from the annual demand for wrinkle options. It has been estimated that 127,000 procedures of nonablative laser skin procedures were performed in 2002. By offering a superior device to this method, these cases may be taken as demand for the following year, assuming that the clients will prefer the new device in place of nonablative laser skin procedures. The marketing strategy of this product must revolve around targeting the appropriate segment of the female old members of the society who are interested in maintaining their firm skin regardless of age.

The key consideration in beating laser option would be the fact that LEDs cool temperatures don’t burn or scar, which laser treatments are known to do. Since the company is still in its formative stage, it is not wise to roll out a fully fledged manufacturing process before the product is proven scientifically and sales volumes attain a steady, predictable figure. If I were the CEO of this company, I would look for investor who would be shareholders in the company to fund the preliminary activities, in which the core one would be seeking scientific proof on the device and obtaining FDA approval.

Problem 2 Problem 3 I have once owned a Samsung Duos mobile phone whose features were advertised to be befitting student and consumers who posses more than one SIM cards. The mobile phone is glamorous in its look and has basic features for any smart phone in the market. My expectation was that the phone would give me the ability to access an online library through some of the mobile apps in Apps stores. Contrary to my expectations, the product could not only install the library access app, but also could not save videos of more than 200Mb without an external storage device.

This is my worst experience with the mobile phone because after spending my saving on a device I thought it was going to help me access the online library with ease could not. I had to access through my PC, despite spending some cash on the product. Reference Porter, M. E. (2008). The Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy. Harvard: Harvard Business School Press.
