Creating A Project Managment Methodoloy – Case Study Example

Running head: creating a project management methodology 14th July Enterprise project management(EPM) entails the organizational development that allows the organizations to effectively integrate between themselves and adapt to the changes that occurs during the transformation process. Earlier, the executive was focused at single projects without taking into consideration other supporting projects. The main focus of EPM is to make an organization have an effective communication process and through the support of information system, the firm will be able to attain its objectives as well as vision and mission. Additionally, Enterprise project management aims at providing a 360 degree view of the firm by ensuring that every party in the organization is included in the day to day activities of the firm (Gomez-Mejia, et al, 2008). Before the introduction of Enterprise project management, managers were hesitant to involve other employees in the operation of a firm based on the assumption that it would result to losing of power to the juniors (Kleiman, 2010). However, senior executives should emulate the EPM not only in order to effectively plan and track the performance of the existing projects but also to create a portfolio of the current and future projects.
One of the strategies that the top executives should emulate in order to ensure that their Enterprise Project Management processes are successful is to establish a Project Management Office (PMO) in order to address the priorities of the firm. In addition, the organizations should establish departmentally based Project Management Offices that reports directly to the Enterprise PMO Manager (Michael, 2010). In this way, it will be possible to monitor the impact of the strategies that are adopted by the firm as well as the performance of the employees in all the departments.
