Decisions in Paradise, Part II Decisions in Paradise, Part II The mission of my current organization is to improve the lives of the people through its business operations. The organization’s mission is reflected in the daily operations of the company, with exceptional attention to enhancing the living standards of people especially those located in the company’s place of business. Designing of social responsibility programs that will address various issues in society helps the company to achieve its mission.

To establish the presence of organization in Kava, we need to determine what is appropriate for the company and what is suitable for the people of Kava. The organization needs to use decision-making techniques while analyzing the objectives of the organization and the necessities of people of Kava. The needs of people of Kava entail the reduction of the cases of disasters and the impact of these disasters. To reduce the cases of HIV/AIDS the organization together with other helping organizations in Kava, will educate the citizens of Kava about HIV/AIDS.

The campaign will educate the citizens on how to use preventive measures, to lower the transmission of HIV, and also advising HIV positive persons to use ARVs and balanced diet to diminish the impact of HIV on their bodies. Kava needs a Disaster Response Centre; the centre will be equipped with facilities and experienced personnel to deal with disasters. The centre will ensure that the Island has considerable disaster preparedness plan (Ryan, Maurya, & Yusra, 2011). Kava is rich of valuable economic resources, but they are not rationally exploited, whereby there are disasters caused by petroleum spills.

Enabling Kava to market their goods and services within and outside the Island will be beneficial since it will provide resources for disaster preparedness, among other necessities. To reduce terrorism threats, the Island needs to have adequate security measures; for example, training and deployment of military personnel. According to Ryan, Maurya, & Yusra, 2011, the following are the decision-making techniques the organization needs to apply while designing its social responsibility programs.

Evaluation of the available choices; this will involve listing of the pros and cons surrounding a choice. After listing the cons and pros of every idea, the decision maker will then list all fascinating points of the idea. These fascinating points comprise of the areas of uncertainty or curiosity, consequences, or attribute that as a decision maker analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of an idea is unnecessary. The fascinating category allows the exploration of choice or idea outside the context of judgment; this involves critical thinking and evaluation of the reasons behind a choice.

Another technique involves criticizing the choices; for example, the problems facing Kava may not be fully addressed by the social responsibility programs of the company since they require an enormous amount of resources. Measured criteria; this technique requires listing of the criteria the decision maker wants his/her resolution to meet and allot points to every criterion based on its importance in the decision (Ryan, Maurya, & Yusra, 2011). For example, the organization main objective is to enhance their presence in Kava, and ways to do this is to address the disasters facing this island.
