The paper "E-Business: Don’s Lumber Company" is a perfect example of a case study on business. With the advent of the internet and other web development technologies throughout the globe, e-business has become a new mantra of today’s business development. As mentioned in the case study, Ideal DIY Store has a very hardworking and efficient team, but they face difficulties to maintain good customer and supplier relationship. The interaction level of the organization with its internal and external environment is too low, and thereby they face several problems to analyse the needs and requirements of their customer.

In this context, they can adopt an e-business strategy that will help them to reach out to a wider customer base and advertise their product effectively and efficiently.1. Describe the environment in which e-business is conducted and business transaction type: The environments in which the company can implement an e-business strategy are divided into two segments, micro and macro. The microenvironment for conducting e-business strategy includes forms of transactions with the company that helps to maintain regular contact with the customers, suppliers, employees and intermediaries.

All of them have a direct interest in the firm’s activities. Implementation of e-business strategy in Ideal DIY Store requires a high degree of trust from all of its customers and partners. However, as the company is based on old fashion bricks, they may feel uncomfortable to manage themselves fully with the new environment and thereby, better safeguard is required to protect against emerging (Johnston et al. 2007). Presently, the e-business strategy is forcing IT, especially in the service sector to enhance service management (e-ITSM) practice.

Thus, Ideal DIY Store can equip e-ITSM with its e-business strategy to handle scalability and quick changes issues. Further, to have an effective supply chain structure, the company needs to align its supply chain with the e-business strategy. On the other hand, the macro-environment for conducting e-business strategy can be analysed through Porter’s forces analysis. Since the last decade, the power of buyers has increased as they have a wide choice of products and prices.
