of the Economic Analysis in the GCC Nominal GDP is the GDP evaluated at current price level. It includes the changes in prices due to increase or decrease in marked prices. For this reason, it is normally affected by changes in prices. In order to avoid the the problems associated with changes in price, another measure of GDP rather than nominal GDP is normally used. It is known as real GDP. Real GDP is evaluated at the current market prices of the base year. It is not affected by change in prices.

Note that the base year’s consumer price index is always 100. Rael GDP is calculated as folloes; Real GDP= (Nominal GDP/CPI)* CPI of Base year GDP and CPI for UAE YEAR Nominal GDP (Million USD) Consumer Price Index Real GDP (Million USD) 1995 63.6 129.6 49.1 1996 71.0 133.5 53.2 1997 72.2 136.8 52.8 1998 73.4 139.6 52.6 1999 82.9 142.0 58.4 2000 103.9 144.9 71.7 2001 103.3 149.0 69.3 2002 109.8 153.5 71.5 2003 124.3 159.8 77.8 2004 147.8 168.8 87.6 2005 180.6 182.0 99.2 2006 222.1 200.6 110.
