Community-oriented policing approaches the solution for criminal activity or intent, social disorder or unrest in a proactive manner and strives to evaluate, control and ratify a probable security concern of the community to the best possible extent. 

Community-oriented policing services can be termed as a change in policing culture where police act in a collaborated manner instead of working in isolation. This change is pointed out by Moore and Larry (2011), “Over time, this process has moved from one-way communication to a significant two-way communication process.
