The paper "Evaluation of Leadership and Management Development - Apple Inc " is a perfect example of a management case study.   The leadership or management style that an organization adopts is influential on the level or organization success realized by such an organization. The management is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling all activities within the organization. This means that type of organizational culture adopted as the defining feature of operations within an organization is highly dependent on the quality of leadership and management practices.

Employees are considered as essential players in organizational success and development. This is because of the role they play in assisting the management in the realization of organizational vision and mission. In addition, through the efforts of the employees, it becomes possible for the management to develop organizational strategies and structures considered vital for the operationalization of an organization. One of the roles of management is planning. This function requires the consideration of organizational vision and strategizing on ways of accomplishing its requirements. Through consultative efforts, the management ensures the success of its planning function through the development of a shared competitive agenda.

This helps in the execution of organizational functions considering that upon the development of an effective plan it is possible to develop a technique on how to execute the plan. The process of executing the commanding, coordination and controlling responsibilities means that the management is the overall supervisor of organizational activities. This is because the effective realization of the organizational objective is possible when there are effective structures detailing the hierarchy defining the power structure within the organization. Critical evaluation The success of any approach to critical evaluation is dependent on the ability of the readers to engage in a process of in-depth and logical analysis of existing material with the objective of developing reasonable and practical solutions.

One technique proposed by the Open University is the Stairway to critical thinking. This approach to critical evaluation provides several steps necessary for a successful evaluation. The initial steps of this stairway to criticality focus on the process of reading and developing an effective understanding of academic sources. The subsequent steps of this technique are inclusive of the skills that must be incorporated when writing about the existing academic sources (Berry 2010).

The incorporation of these in the evaluation and critical thought process is considered important in the development of a systematic process towards the development of effective conclusions in any academic discourse The first step in the stairway to criticality is processed. At this step, the reader acquires information from academic sources by reading, listening, doing and seeing. This will lead to the second step of understanding. In this step, the leader identifies and comprehends the major ideas, assumptions, arguments and evidence that characterize the academic sources of interest (Fairholm 2009).

The process of understanding also requires the reader to put the information available in the right context as a way of ensuring that the practicality and the relevance of the academic soured are in accordance with the desires and objectives of the reader. The third step is analysis in which the reader examines how the major components can fit together and relate to each other. In this stage, the reader attempts to develop effective thought towards the academic material.

This allows the reader to relate information from the academic sources with the realities of society. The process of analysis also allows the reader to engage in a practice of understanding possible criticisms arising from the information acquired from the academic sources. Compare is the fourth steps in the stairway of critical thinking. In this step, the reader considers the existing similarities and differences between the academic sources. Through such consideration, it becomes easier to identify the common features and the dissimilarities that characterize the academic sources.

Comparing the sources is considered critical for the evaluation process because it provides a methodology through which the reader can ensure that only relevant information is gathered for the realization of an effective solution or conclusion from the academic sources.
