The case study of SEI: An organization on wheels is an exemplary example of highly innovative organization culture that thrives on change and creative approach (Hellreigel & Slocum, 2009, p 454-455). The non hierarchical and transparent organization structure empowers employees to make informed decisions based on shared learning and understanding. Indeed, the observable aspects of the organizational culture can be defined as a set of code of conduct for the individuals or groups operating under the broader umbrella of organizational values, beliefs and its mission and vision statement.

The people’s behavior, dress code and interaction with each other reflect the organization’s value system and shared belief. SEI is using organic design of organization culture. The office infrastructure like table and chair with wheels reflect the organization’s readiness to embrace change. Computers on every table and modern art on walls leave an impression of creative atmosphere where technology and creativity go hand in hand. The barrier free atmosphere and friendliness testify mutual respect and easy accessibility of management facilitating better understanding and individual growth.

The confident demeanor of the empowered employees, indicate that the company encourages and values individual achievements. The shared beliefs and value system of the organizations can be easily observed through their creative productivity and reflected in their behavioral pattern and the way juniors and seniors interact with each other. The current style of organic design is the most suited organization design for SEI. In the contemporary environment of fast advancing technology and rapid globalization, businesses need to evolve with time.

Organic organization as ones which are highly adaptive and flexible structure that thrives on information sharing and easily accepts change. The organizational culture highlights the horizontal communication that promotes mutual understanding, multiple skill development and shared learning. They are committed to organizational goals and objectives and work in teams that encourages collective decision making. The organizational culture facilitates better understanding, prediction and improvisation in work place that leads to improved performance.

This type of organization is best for SEI because the contemporary business environment has become hugely competitive and one needs to be flexible in its business strategy to meet the challenges of the time. The changing business strategies to cope with the fast transforming socio-economical paradigms of the times have become crucial factors that enable the businesses to compete against their rivals. The world has shrunk into a global village and one must accept the challenges of developing new strategies and models of management that incorporate technology and multi-cultural work environment.

Effective communication and proper dissemination of information help the workforce to adapt successfully to the changes thereby facilitating a change that is positive. The managerial leadership promotes joint goals and collective decision making. The participatory approach of organizational leadership is highly motivating. Therefore, it can be conclusively stated that SEI thrives on organic structure of the system or organization. (475) Reference Hellreigel, Don & Slocum, John. (2009). The Organizational Behavior.
