Up to this stage facebook has its own strengths: the brand name facebook now stands out as a key advantage in social network as a global phenomena since its presence now covers over 70 languages, this becomes easy for non-English speaking users to interact and use in any learning environment. The signing up procedure is easy as well as free of charge making it to be the most popular social network platform with about 600 million subscribers and still increasing. Through facebook its easy for the libraries to get into conduct with their clientele easily and fast.

Users are freely able to contribute instantly their own ideas on many issues including services and resources that libraries can but into consider for learning purposes. Lack of strict evaluation during sign up to have an account makes it vulnerable for fake accounts to be set up. There is a high change of users with fake accounts to misuse them which may cause other users fill insecure. The vulnerability of facebook still is high especial due to lack of proper security from virus attack, spam and hacker who are good with cracking people’s passwords to use their information unlawfully. Libraries that depend on this platform might expose themselves to criticisms.

Threats These external or environmental factors willingly or un-willingly affect the positive outcome of the project, any competition that night come from other social platform is likely to cause some competition, for instance Google Plus which was launched by Google as a social networking, over time, it might be a powerful brand and divert the attention of facebook which in return could hurt facebook’s pricing power. Facebook users can easily unsubscribe by the click of the button meaning that the audience number will reduce.

The facebook site is beyond the control of most librarians managers which means that, the educational usage can be cut of anytime. Accounts are vulnerable to hackers who can compromise them at anytime. Opportunities To keep up with the current trends of information technologies, there are a lot of opportunities associated with facebook that can benefit all learners at all levels that many institutions and libraries affectively have not been exploiting fully, for instance, is a excellent platform with wide audience where librarians can use to market themselves and services in order to widen their clientele, users as well as attract more new users preferences (Facebook Swot Analysis. Recommendations/ Conclusion Nowadays almost everybody has a account on facebook including young kids, this is because its platform is open to everybody, however, it ought to be noted that, some care has to be taken since individuals can upload at any given time and share pictures with their friends, some pictures seems not appropriate to have a look at, especially for kids.

The same platform might bring bad influence to growing kids.
