The not-for-profit performing arts organization is one of the various forms of non-profit arts organizations, which includes music, dancing, film, poetry, and others. Actually, the arts can be clarified into two categories, the static one and the dynamic one. Apparently, the performing arts belong to the later one to achieve the purpose of promoting and developing the work of artists, meeting the demands of visual delight from people. This research will introduce how to manage in not-for-profit performing arts organizations, and make deep analysis after a better understanding of them.

Compared to the not-for-profit performing arts organization with the for-profit arts organization, the most different part between them is aiming to make profits. Therefore the management of internal and external organizations is important. This research wills analysis of the following procedures. Firstly, make a deeper understanding of management in the non-profit performing arts organizations, especially the role and responsibilities of boards and human resource management in them. Secondly, to build a health funding operation system is the basis for the non-profit performing arts organizations to achieve sustainable development. Thirdly, understand and identify marketing strategies and necessities of partnership for non-profit performing arts organizations in communicating with outside worlds in detail. Lastly, it is necessary to comprehend current issues in funds, competition, or other aspects and come up with ways to improve it. At the same time, to make the theories understandable, some examples from Australia and China will be used to clarify the topic.

2.0 The role and responsibility of the boards

The management of non-profit performing organizations is dual leadership, comprising two sections of different directors (Galli, 2011). The first director is the artistic director and the other one is the executive director (Figure 1).
