The paper "Methods of Expressing Dissatisfaction" is a good example of management coursework.   Job satisfaction is very important for both the employees and the organization because it is the key determinant of the company’ s productivity. The reason behind this is that employees who are satisfied work harder and they tend to meet the company’ s target. The outcome will be positive because they want to impress the management and achieve the company goals and objectives. Dissatisfaction among employees makes employees retaliate in different ways as a way of showing dissatisfaction or as they search for satisfaction (Kehoe, 2007).

The employees use overt methods where they display their discontent openly and everyone is made aware of such dissatisfaction. They also use covert methods where employees secretly show their discontent and this sends a message either to their fellow employees or the company’ s management. Dissatisfaction among employees’ leads to conflicts in the company which may be interpersonal conflicts occur between employees. They result from minor disagreement and broaden in such a way that they can lead to physical assault (Kehoe, 2007). There are employees who undertake sabotage as a way of showing dissatisfaction and this might lead to low productivity among the employees and this will lead to losses for the company.

Therefore, there is a need for the companies’ management to eliminate dissatisfaction among employees so as to ensure that the employees have high productivity. There are different methods employees use to express their dissatisfaction and they will discuss in the paper. Methods of expressing Dissatisfaction There are two types of methods employees use to express their dissatisfaction and they are overt and covert.

Overt is a method where employees openly face the problem leading to dissatisfaction. They let the management know about the issues affecting them. These methods include use of voice to air their grievances, face the person bringing the dissatisfaction or even leaving the job. Covert methods are more severe because employees secretly express their dissatisfaction. They include stealing from the company, being absent from work, they also sabotage work by deliberately refusing to pass vital information to either management or fellow employees (Kehoe, 2007). Use of voice There are employees who find this method useful as a link between them and the management.

This is an overt method of expressing dissatisfaction directly to the management of the company. The employees through their representatives forward their grievances to the management and they try to find solutions to problems affecting all the employees (Zhou & George, 2001). It is one of the best-proposed methods because it builds good communication between the employees and management because they hold discussions to improve the welfare of employees. Through this method, the employees’ representatives and management hold negotiations so as to solve the problems affecting employees (Kehoe, 2007).

This method is preferred by both the employees and management because it works to improve the productivity of employees. The method can be used by individual employees facing dissatisfaction to bring to the attention of the people bring such dissatisfaction. It promotes harmony in the company because many issues are solved amicably (Zhou & George, 2001). This helps the company achieve its goals and objectives by increasing its productivity. The two parties work to improve the condition in the workplace so as to increase the company’ s productivity (Zhou & George, 2001).
