Managers are results oriented, and they control the allocation of resources that are required in the achieving the objectives in an organization. Managers should be able to motivate the workers, and give them precise directions that should be clear, and easy to follow. Managers should also be able to guide the workers as they perform their duties, detect errors and correct them before they propagate themselves (William, 2007).

Leadership differs slightly from management. It is more concerned on how people who are in leadership positions influence their subject, and guide them towards the attainment of the objectives. It is possible for a manager to posses the leadership qualities on top of the management competence he might be having. The following questions will guide the management in screening an eligible manager who will lead the new branch. Why do you think that you stand out as the best candidate for this job?

This question will gauge the ability of the candidate to state their achievements, and show that they have unique potentials. As the candidates explain about who they are, you can get information that concerns their self-organization. Organized people can also organize others effectively. You can also find out whether their level of qualification is consistent with the job expectations. Least but to mention, determine whether their training is relevant to management job. The question will also measure the competence of their communication skills.

What is your motivation for choosing this job? The question will determine whether the salary, reputation, results or the job satisfaction motivates the candidate. Managers get things done in an organization. Therefore, their main motivation should be achieving desired results by utilizing then available resources. This question will also cover their level of effectiveness in accomplishing the mission of management. What steps will you take in the event of strike by workers? This question will look at the individual’s ability to control people during periods of crisis.

His competence in applying then management functions like conflict resolution in the job place will also be put to test. The question will also gauge the capability of the candidate to talk people down during strikes; they cause a lot of damage to the company properties. A candidate can also portray the ability to develop employee satisfaction in their jobs. This kind of job satisfaction will increase performance, and reduce wastages in an organization (Dale, 1969). How do you deal with your own stress that of those people who are close to you?

This question will test their ability to get on with their as they continue performing their job duties (Laurie, 2005). The interpersonal skills further looks into their ability to help the worker to get rid of their stress and restore their capacity to work normally. Stress related ailments rob companies many working hours through leaves and absenteeism. They should have strong, influential power for the workers to emulate (Berberoğlu, 1993). How will you achieve tight deadlines to ensure customer satisfaction?

Can you also give an example of a task that you performed that clearly displays the depth of your intelligence? This will cover the strategic planning and organizational skills of the applicant that will focus all the resources to beat the deadlines without any delays. It will also detect the conceptual and intellectual capacity of a potential manager. People believe in those individuals who have authority over them, and they obey the in all ways managers should be able to utilize this opportunities to achieve the objectives (Berberoğlu, 1993).

Conclusion Management is a process of getting things done effectively and efficiently to achieve set goals and objectives.
