Making the decision was a difficult task due to the opportunity associated with the options. It was not possible to compromise my education through part-time employment. On the other hand, I needed a stable income to finance my immediate needs and future career prospects. I also needed to stop being a financial burden to my guardians who are also experiencing financial constraints. Both options were significant to my education and career. However, it was impossible to accomplish both tasks simultaneously.

After reviewing the significance of education and financial security, I decided to take the challenge. In this case, the challenge involved analyzing how I spent my spare time. After a critical analysis, I discovered that I was not utilizing my time effectively. For instance, I only used a maximum of ten hours to do my course work. This made me realize that I was wasting a lot of time, which could be utilized, on a part-time job. This indicates that the genius of “AND” is shielded by the existence of “Or”. Embracing the mentality of AND made me overcome the challenges associated with taking the options.

The tyranny of OR also stands out as a major challenge in the corporate world. The health sector is the most affected by the tyranny of OR and the genius of “AND”. Most health organizations are faced with a dilemma concerning the profitability of their business and their social responsibility. The two roles are essential for the sustainability business in the health sector. However, it is difficult to take one without compromising the other role. Concentrating on profits without considering the social responsibilities of a health organization hinders its sustainability (Collins, 2010). On the other hand, a health organization will require profits to cover its expenses. A balance between profits and social responsibility for this case requires effective management strategies.

Finally, the genius of AND is overshadowed by people’s resistance towards change that is protected by the tyranny of “OR”. The tyranny of OR depicts standards or norms while AND indicates change. Survival and success of a business organization depend on their attitude towards change (Collins, 2010). For instance, Motorola changed from car radio business into telephone handset business due to the genius of “AND”.
