Introduction Operations management is one of the aspects of an organization that should be taken into account. It involves overseeing the operations of the company to ensure the organization operates smoothly. One of the strategies which have been applied by many organizations to create a competitive advantage is effective operations management. It has helped many organizations to improve the quality of services that are offered to customers as well as meeting their expectations (Barries 2008).

The techniques used in operations management is quality management and risk management. These aspects help to improve the operations of the company by ensuring that there is smooth coordination of activities. In this regard, this report will discuss two aspects of operations management which are quality management and risk management. The discussion will be based on the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Further, the report will discuss the techniques which are used to manage quality and risk and specifically the techniques which have been applied by the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to improve its service delivery to customers. Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre are buildings that are adjacent to the city of Melbourne in Australia.

The building was officially opened in the year 1996 after the completion of its construction and it offers space for various exhibitions. The owner of the building is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust.
