The paper "Small and Medium Enterprise Development Report - Posh Car Centre " is an outstanding example of a marketing case study. Posh Car Centre (PCC) is a unique innovation that started out as a personal hobby. It then developed into part item money making creative past time. This was the creation of a couple of students who used to wash their cars and those of their neighbours. They were identified as the “ top-down group” . This was a result of how they carried on with the practice of washing and maintaining cars while listening to blaring music as argued by Hodgetts and Kuratko (2008).
What started out as a hobby, in one of the back yards, evolved into a full-time business. Parents, teachers and friends all came and had their cars thoroughly washed at a cheap and affordable cost. This was one of the features that attracted them to the services that we were offering. One of the partners has then decided to venture fully into the business and invest a lot of capital into it. He would then employ the services of the other partners who would take up managerial roles in the business as argued by Hodgetts and Kuratko (2008). The creation of the business came up with measures to employ the services of several individuals.
They all have their strengths in the car washing and maintenance business. Duties and responsibilities are delegated and segregated based on the ability of each and every person’ s strengths according to Allen (2007). This means that the business is practically a business partnership amongst friends. They are heavily bound by the fact that they have the ability to ensure the creation and success of a business.
This business has the expectation of building a brand name for itself locally and internationally according to Allen (2007). This is the reason behind the motivation and creation of the business. The duties of the partners are broken down into five diverse categories. They include the cashier, the mechanic and employees who are tasked with the responsibility of washing the cars. It should be noted that everyone has the knowledge and expertise to deal with any sector of the business.
This ensures that individuals have the responsibility of rotating in the sectors of each and every individual. The sole purpose of rotational segregation of duties is to ensure that there is no one individual who is constantly strained and overworked according to Allen (2007). This is necessary because it ensures that the partnership in question is regulated with respect among the partners. The employees ensure that they have the regular training that ensures that they are at the top of their game as argued by Hatten (2006). This means that the mechanic tasked with the duty of maintenance has to go for regular training.
This will ensure that they have the most recent skills in the filed. This is also the case for the rest of the employees. They will have to upgrade their skills in relation to service provision, accounting and the best car washing skills. This is especially the case in this era of environmental sensibility and sustainability.
