The paper "The Business Payoff of Cloud Services " Is a wonderful example of a Business Case Study. This paper presents a summary and analysis of three theses. The first thesis presents a business plan for a new CRM software dubbed “ Update Software as a Service. The product is developed collaboratively by Swiss IT Services AG and Update AG. The second proposes a winning strategy that would enable us to launch successfully into a multi-layer cloud market. The third thesis presents an analysis of how BSI AG can create a unique selling plan through cloud computing to enable it to acquire significant market share capable of covering initial investment, which would eventually make the project a success. “ Business Plan for a CRM Software as a Service” Summary and finding The thesis presented a business plan for a new CRM software dubbed “ Update Software as a Service.
The product is developed collaboratively by Swiss IT Services AG and Update AG after the integration of the SaaS platform and CRM Software. The new software is designed for medium and large enterprises for the Swiss market as well as global users (Parissidis, n.d. ). The findings from the SWOT and market analysis revealed that a great potential for the growth of the product and its financial benefits exist.
The success of the product, however, depends on the continued collaboration of Swiss IT Services AG and Update AG and gaining new customers in Germany (Parissidis, n.d. ). Financial analysis reveals that a minimum of 100 new customers are needed each year for 5 years if costs have to be covered and to earn favorable profits. Further findings reveal that the migration of current customers would not be enough given the hosting prices that are offered to update (Parissidis, n.d. ). Factors that lead to adopting or not adopting iCloud For us to be a good business option, the business should consider reliability in adopting cloud computing.
The benefits of the economy of scale resulting from adopting cloud computing also make it a consideration for file storage. The software has the capability to make computing of data-intensive, secure management of information and application in the development of market segments (Rahimli, 2013). Adapting the technology should be determined by its capability to meet all its computing needs (Almeida et al. , 2013).
This is a factor that can be considered for IaaS, as it is relatively fast and can be accessed by the final user through a web portal. However, IaaS has no other services and it requires the final user to install and maintain the infrastructure and application. Although IaaS infrastructure offers high-security standards such as prevention of data loss and intrusion detection, it does not offer additional support security services such as monitoring. Additionally, the cost-effectiveness of the software is also a critical factor to consider.
It should be able to provide computing as a utility and computing as a service that enables the company to adapt well to customer needs (Jung et al, n.d. ). The cost issues in cloud computing involve the ability to avoid large expenses for computer systems and to meet all needs it is intended for (Rahimli, 2013).
