Chocolate Chips What was the point in presenting the cookies un-branded? What information would be needed to ensure that brand knowledge or recognition was not an influential factor? The point behind the unbranded presentation of the cookies to the respondents was to ensure that no one tries to be bias about one brand while answering the questions. The unbiased answers will help in the correct analysis of the quality of the choco chips. Information such as the taste, the crispiness, etc would be required in order to ensure that the answers were not influenced from a particular brand.

Each of the brands will differ when it comes to the tastes and other sensory factors. Based on their judgment of these sensory factors, we will be able to come to a conclusion as to which brand is the best among the four. 2- What was the point in using different orders of presentation of the cookies? Did order of presentation make a difference; was there a difference in mean rating across the 4 positions across all products together? Again, the whole point of using different orders of presentations for each of the respondents was to ensure that that is no favoritism.

It could have been possible that the respondents might have tried to get the answers from each other but once the whole presentation is re-ordered there is no such further possibility of having the same answers. There was no difference when it came to the results as the whole rating was done on the basis of the sensory questions and the likeness. 3- What are some variables that you think are important enough to control in this study? Some variable which according to me are important for the control of the study are ‘sweetness and the crispiness of the choco chips.

These two factors are the most important according to me because a person loves a choco chips because of its taste, flavor and crispiness. 4- Summarize the differences found among the four cookies in terms of the sensory questions (Qs1-3) From the ranking analysis it can be seen that Entenmann’s has topped the list as the best cookie, Chips Ahoy got the second rank and other two brands Keebler Deluxe and Famous Amos got third and fourth rank respectively.

The rank of the four different brands is showing the preferences of the population. The most populations are leanness towards the Entenmann’s cookies in terms of crispness, amount of chips and sweetness from other three brands. However, from the help rating analysis, it can be seen that Entenmann’s has liked by the most population than other three brands. Therefore, Entenmann’s is best brand and most favorable brand to the populations in terms of crispness, amount of chips and sweetness.

5- Summarize the differences found among the four cookies in terms of the liking questions (Qs 4-7) From rating analysis, it can be seen that Famous Amos is most preferred by the population and the cookies of Entenmann’s is secondly preferred in terms of like crispness, like amount of chips, like sweetness and like overall. However, ranking analysis of these four brands stated that Entenmann’s is most preferred. 6- What did the results demonstrate? The whole result of analysis is stated that the cookies of Entenmann’s are best in all respect (crispness, amount of chips and sweetness).
