Culturally Diverse Family The interviewee hails from the Chinese culture. He studies in America hence he is bound to adapt to the culture of the American society because it differs from the Chinese culture in many ways. The social structure of the Chinese structure is slightly different from that of the United States. This is evident in the interaction of the interviewee and his American counterparts. Conflict resolution in china is not akin to conflict resolution in the United States. This is because the interviewee prefers amicable and peaceful means of resolving disputes even in his studies. Additionally, the interviewee advocate for the welfare of both parties in the conflict, which arises. According to Finkelstein (2008), resolving conflicts aggressively is human nature. It is also true that humans have recognized that maintaining peace and harmony within their social networks is essential for mutual survival. America advocates for individualism while china advocates for communism. This implies that the culture of china is more accommodative than the culture of the United States. According to Choi, the idea of a person pursuing what he perceives right (34). This promotes individualism because of the thinking of a person. When the writer thinks and writes his or her thoughts, the approach often promotes individualism. The lack of social aid from peers when expressing an idea leads to individualism. She acknowledges the idea of a person expressing his or her idea when writing because it promotes self-belief. It enables a person to get all the credit without other interferences. This enables an individual to work even harder than before in achieving targeted goals. According Tsarouhas (2008), the people of China held the subjective feudal autocratic perspective that communism was naturally the only way people could be governed .The animosity between the nationalist and the communists compelled the nationalists to consolidate support from the Taiwan and the US government, to defeat the communist group. In addition, the pre-cultural revolution of China was aimed at challenging the male dominance in Chinese society. Women had no option of deciding their position in society because it is the male who decided everything concerning the lifestyles of the women. In the process justice and democracy were obtained. This notwithstanding communism has featured in the Chinese reconstruction history. Communism contributed greatly in the development of the nation of China. The interaction of the communists and the nationalists qualified these latter to be the same economic and social level as the communists who also gave labor free. The communists who failed to comply with the commune system of governance were subjected to punitive punishment. According to Finkelstein, the measures were put in place in order to dissuade the communist from opposing the agendas of the nationalists (57). The fact that they were referred to as servants led to their increase in number in the US .This contributed in the increase of farming hence boost of agricultural produce. There was exhaustion of land use in the growth of commercially relevant crops for commercial purpose in China. The Chinese industries were mechanized in order to keep pace with the agricultural sector, which had greatly boosted the economy. The majority of these communists were employed in agricultural firms. Therefore, this lot enhanced the growth and development of the economy of China. The nationalists ensured that the communists remained absolutely dependent on them in order to tame them. The business relations in the United States focus on the dispensation of the contractual obligations of the parties of the business contract. Tsarouhas asserts that the Chinese focus on the social aspect of business relations as opposed to the implementation of the business deals (49). The business will have to respect the contractual terms agreed upon by the customers of its products because breach of contractual terms is enforceable. Adherence to customer rights is a god gesture to customers hence it will boost the business’s image. Fair use policy also puts limitation with regard to the use of a website. Business relations entail the moral values and principles that guide business partner on the right code of conduct in a business setting. Compliance with ethics guides the traders on the right thing to pursue concerning the welfare in business. It encompasses the rights and obligations the traders have in a business setting, and the gradual development of a trader. The aspect is included in the organization’s policy framework given the benefits, which accrue from practicing ethics in a firm. It takes the form of corporate social responsibility at the firm’s level at the individual level; each trader at within the organization is expected to uphold ethical standards and workplace etiquette. The aspect of reputation is considered to be a panacea to conflicts in the Chinese society. However, the reputation is not given priority in the American society. Morality is emphasized in the Chinese society while morality is not a priority for the American community. Recognition of the dead in America is not common because of the fact that most for the Americans are immigrants. According to Choi, the Americans do not attach value to the appeasing of their ancestors (69). Humility is an essential aspect of the Chinese beliefs because of the culture of the Chines people. Conversely, humility is considered a weakness among the American people. In this regard, the success of an individual in the American society is considered success for the entire population while the strides made by a Chinese person are downplayed by the rest of the community. The Americans are time conscious compared to the Chinese people. The Chinese do not base their success on the aspect of time .Conversely; the American people attach the success of their tasks on the time management applied on each job done. This creates time pressures for most of the American people. This explains the high prevalence rate of heart attack diseases in the US. According to Smith, time management enhances the achievement of goals, which ought to be specific, measurable, accurate, realistic and time-related (45). Organizing entails the assembling of the tools required for the given task. This will enhance the achievement of the goals pre-set. The respect of each person in the Chinese community is upheld because of the Chinese belief in morality and social ethics. However, this is not practiced in the American society because of the aspect of individualism. This makes the co-existence of the American people difficult. Individualism leads to geocentricism, which eliminates the benefits of communism in the American society. The government also warned that it was to withdraw the financial resource guaranteed to all the communities in case the treaty conditions were contravened. According to Smith, a compromise was arrived at after the government promised equitable distribution of resources for all the settlers and promised each community (34). This treaty also encourages peaceful co-existence among the settler communities. However, the Lakota community breached the treaty and slaughtered a cow belonging to the settler community. This sparked off a fierce fight between the soldiers and the Indians, which resulted in the death of all the American soldiers. This led to a series of retaliations. Gen. William Harney went to restore peace between the Indians of Lakota and the settler communities. This continued for a considerable amount of time given that another war broke out. This involved the Overland Trail travellers and the American people. Use of meta-messages, which is manifest in the American official persuasion of settler communities, was a tool for calming down the disharmony among them. This was ridiculous given that the American army thought they had overcome the deviant communities like the Lakota. Additionally, the Lakota people attacked a train in Dawson County. This compelled a peaceful agreement to be sought. This entailed the payment of food and arms to the Lakota people in a bid to have a ceasefire. The presence of the settlers also contributed to the tensions because of their use of resources without any payment for the resources. The teasing of the Native Americans is also a factor contributing to the aggression of the Native Americans .The shift of the settler communities like the Pawnees to the Indian Territory was cause for aggression of the Lakota people. \ Works Cited Choi, Jongryul. Postmodern American Sociology: A Reponse to the Aesthetic Challenge.
