Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea On 27 May I attended the staging of the Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea that was hosted by the Oregon Contemporary Theatre. Every student was required to attend such an event to be in a position to complete their assignments on Go to the Theater! I managed to arrive and settle in the theater with fifteen minutes remaining before the play commenced. I was particularly excited since this was my first time to attend a live preview of a play. I wondered how the experience would be by watching the live performance. She, too, was excited to see the real actors perform on stage. It was an excellent experience. It felt so realistic to watch the live performance. Watching the actors on stage was better than when I had watched them on screen. Firstly, they brought out unique comic effects such as the use of gestures, facial expressions, as well as movements on the stage. However, it was an unusual way of spending my money and leisure time. Previously, I used to attend football matches or hang out with friends. The audience sat on red chairs arranged systematically in rows and columns, ascending in height from the nearest to the stage to the farthest. There was also music playing in the background. Listening keenly, I could tell that it was a playlist comprising of cool rap, pop, and rock categories. It contained content in matters love. That was because the play staged was based on love and dating. Another notable is that the production was professional. The host theater invited the original producers and actors of the play. In this way, they managed to give each audience value for their money. There had been issues of staging amateur productions and charging the cost of professional production. That led to complaints from the clients and viewers. Unfortunately, I did not manage to identify any of them as they performed. However, I could identify them from the Xerox copy presented on the theater program. That showed that producers frequently make enhanced to the characters in terms of graphics and mixing of colors during production. As such, they appear different on stage from movies and plays. The podium was decorated nicely with materials with the blue color. Actors also wore blue costumes. The costume designer did an excellent in creating a romantic environment for the scene.
