of Racial conflict Racial conflicts and tensions have in the recent past become widespread global observable fact, especially in multi-racial societies. The nature of racial conflicts ranges from racial discrimination to severe racial violent. The management of racial conflict has in the recent past turned out to be a severe challenge in the post-cold war era. Recent years has witnessed manifestation of racial conflicts in different ways including: intimidation, property vandalism, verbal threat, ethic/racial jokes, as well as physical violence. Racial conflicts have as well received infinite critics from various entities due to its long term harm to victims’ physical, psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing that is brought about by body mistreatment, verbal harm, and the impacts of consistent threats (Enrique189). It appears that, some of this racial unrest is brought about by inadvertent and intentional physical verbal and non-verbal actions. Racial conflict can be defined as a situation that explains either a misunderstanding or planned racial discrimination and harassment that leads to physical distress and interpersonal altercations in the affected population. Peaceful coexistence between different racial groups is extremely critical for sustainable political, social, and economic development. Lack of peaceful coexistence amongst different racial group may lead to consistent racial tension, hostility, and conflicts that lead to destruction of properties and loss of lives. To necessitate global uniformed economic development and growth, maintenance of global peace is paramount and inevitable. All plays are therefore expected to step up and initiate mechanisms that can offset animosity experienced among different racial groups. Additionally, to realize the relevant change for social development, individuals ought to be committed toward bringing the required change in the society. The essay below therefore seeks to persuade individuals to take the necessary actions to actively defy racial conflict in the society. Due to racial conflicts, societies in different countries are divided; more that 20 million lives have so far been lost, future generation is as well at risk of extinction and there is increased racial based hatred and fear in the world. Racial conflict has become a global economic development predicament that requires instant action to minimize its effect on the contemporary society. Based on the assessable global statistics, it is clear that, racial motivate conflicts occurs almost on daily bases in diverse social settings. In 2007, the world spent over $ 67 million to help racial conflict victims. In 2003, the United States of America’s Department of Justice received over 210,000 cases of racially motivated hate crimes in different states. The current statistics is a clear indication of elevating cases of racial conflict in a considerable number of the world society. Based on the current statistics, it is astonishing to understand that, a good percentage of modern racial instigated violence is more apparent among young people. For instance in 2005, the 21% of hate crime offenders in United States of America were under 18 years of age. Additionally, most racial conflicts occur in learning institutions. Present statistics indicates that, over 64% of global conflicts in many learning institutions are motivated by nations of origin and race (Mitchell 621). By considering the fact , most of the racial conflict cases are common among young people, it is evident that, unless acute action is taken against racial conflict suspects, the menace is likely to be worse in the near future People vacating their homes due to racial conflicts in Italy Additionally, despite its daunting level, the accessible statistics may fail to present the actual cases of racial conflicts in different societies. This is due to the fact that, most of the available statistics is based on the reported cases. A good number of the affected population may fail to report cases of racial conflict due to the existing difference in the interpretation of the term racial conflict. Most people presume racial conflict to an overtly hostile incidence as opposed to covert incidents that involves verbal abuse. As a result, to holistically address the rising cases of racial conflicts, it is imperative to explicate to the general public the meaning and nature of racial conflict. Additionally, the detrimental side effects of racial conflict are as well an additional main factor that leads to the demand for an abrupt action to counter the vice. In most cases, racial conflicts result to depressing impact on individual wellbeing as well as to the greater community development. In most cases, exposure to racial conflict results to grave harm on individuals’ emotional, physical, social, and academic development. When the minority students in a society are discriminated in learning institutions, their full educational progress is paralyzed, contradicting with the existing global initiative of ensuring equal opportunities to all students. Additionally, racial conflicts lead to imbalanced power structures in public institutions amongst different racial groups. Racial discrimination have negative impacts on the society overall socio-economic environment. An armed officer participating in racial conflict in Indonesia Racial conflict also creates severe racial tension among the involved society members. Increased tension negatively affects social coexistence in the society thus leading to economic downfalls that result to adjacent poverty in the affected community. In the extreme cases, racial based tension leads to civil wars that lead to destruction of properties and loss of lives. In general, despite causing negative effect on the immediate victims, racial conflicts may also affect the general operations of the entire community. Racial conflicts also lead to depreciation of the country’s property value, destruction of the community values and reputation, as well as interference with the involved community members’ general development initiatives. If the current racial conflict trend continues increasing, experts has projected a risk of emergence of global racial based conflict. Therefore, to prevent the predicted conflict, it is imperative for the entire global population to stand up and take immediate and precise action to deal with looming crises. Actions to Solve the Problem Normally, the main causes of racial conflicts entail the feeling of oppression and social inequality. Therefore, to adequately minimize cases of racial discrimination in modern society, it is significantly important for community members to indentify effective means of tackling the main causes of racial tension. However, the framework to address racial conflict should be an all-inclusive process. Additionally, although the solution to racial based conflict may appear to be simple, its implementation has over years experienced concurrent complexity. As a result, to holistically address racial conflict in the society, comprehensive planning is incredibly essential. To necessitate the process, the policy planners and implementers should adopt the tree-prolonged intervention model designed to advance inter-race coexistence. This model aims at involving the entire society members and is designed to directly benefit the whole society. The plan as well aims at making the relevant changes in society operations, by using special events to instill peace among conflicting races and generate abiding behavioral standards. To minimize the ever increasing deaths caused by racial conflicts, all racial groups in a society ought to be treated equally. To achieve this, the involved government should develop contemporary liberal democratic structures that ensure maximum respect of the rights of all its citizens. There should be no unfairness in political institutions, learning institutions and in employment and promotion. Global governments should also install and cultivate the sense of national identity that relies on basic principles of nation state as opposed to racialism. Severe actions should as well be taken against global governments that consider race in their recruitment and training. On the other hand, the introduction of race in national identification cards should as well be eliminated as it is rated as one of the main facet that accelerates racial discrimination (Lichter 563). Additionally, the use of a familiar national language and non-sectarian language should be highly encouraged to viaduct the existing racial inequality. All public officers should also be encouraged to use official language in their daily activities and operations. Sanction and discipline actions should be taken against individual and entities that rely on non-sectarian language in their communication. Global political systems should be encouraged to adopt the culture of policy and principles in their activities as opposed to racial and ethnic based politics. The adoption of principle and ideology based politics will to a great extent minimize the racial hostility brought about by political activities and powers. The judiciary should also be empowered with the required jurisdiction of enforcing laws aimed at discouraging racial conflicts and discrimination. Potential Ways through which Individuals Might Contribute to the Solution By considering individual’s contribution in solving racial discrimination, it is essential to acknowledge the various causes of racial conflicts. Relying on the existing institutions to holistically eliminate racial conflict in a society is not adequate enough. Intervention mechanism should as a result be versatile and should involve everyone in the community. In involving the community member in the fight against racial conflict, community leaders should consider several variables that include: the magnitude of the conflicts, the nature of the conflict, the level of the support, community members’ commitment towards fighting the vice, multicultural climate and the surrounding community. The community leaders should also organize platforms that will necessitate the incorporation of the ideas and opinions from the general public in the intervention approach. To completely eradicate racial conflicts in the society, individuals should have the willpower of making the required change. The decision to eliminate racial hatred should be inside the participants. Additionally, individuals ought to robustly compel the involved state organizations to institute policies that will minimize racial discrimination. Legislature should be informed on the significant of the introduction of effective policies to minimize racial differences. Individual should ensure that racial discrimination is minimized in public institutions. Community members should as a result report to the necessary authority on the emerging cases of racial discrimination. Community elites and experts should as well be involved in the institution and implementation of the available policies to eliminate racial conflict. Individual should as well attend all seminars and conferences designed to educate community members on the side effects of racial discrimination. Community members participating in the fight against racism campaign in Italy Why it is important to change the problem Racial conflict has over the years depressingly interfered with economic, social, and political development in many societies. Racial conflict is as well rated as one of the main factors for modern inter-ethnic conflicts that lead to massive loss of lives and destruction of properties. At present, more that 20 million lives has so far been lost due to unnecessary racial conflict. Therefore, by considering the massive impact of racial conflict, a plan to change the problem is vital and inescapable. On the other hand, social, political, and economic development can only be achieved in a calm and accommodating environment. Total contribution among society members is as well essential and valuable in the fight against racial bigotry. Therefore, the introduction of peaceful economically oriented and incorporating environment can only be achieved in a racial conflict free society. These call for an endless need to institute radical changes that can entirely eliminate racial discrimination. Additionally, with modern globalization and liberalization, peaceful coexistence among global races is vital and significant. Peaceful interaction among global racial groups can only be acquired through a conflict free society (Horn 41). A grave of racial conflict victims in Germany Conclusion Based on the existing facts, it is clear that, racial conflicts are a universal occurrence in numerous societies. This calls for immediate action among the involved stakeholders. The action should as well be based on the level and nature of the impact of racial conflict to the society.
