The paper "Occupational Health and Safety" is an outstanding example of a health sciences and medicine report. The evaluation of the workplace system is mainly focused on the prior audit that was conducted in March 2008 by a person called Jan Hardie. This was made possible by the fact that the auditor worked with the Power and Water Corporation (PWC) therefore he could access the documented reports of the audits. The evaluation mainly eyed the OH&S committee and structure composition just as one of the areas of interest on the understanding that it did not encompass all the essential system elements as per the provisions of the law (Lingard and Rowlinson, 2005).

The workplace system forms a well structured but complex system that makes the area of concern for the audit process. The system is a hierarchical one led by the executive management team which is chaired by the managing director. Reporting to the managing director are the strategic functional managers. They are charged with the mandates of reviewing OH&S management systems and set the OH&S strategy. Supporting the operations of the executive management team is a sub-committee chaired by committee members and an OH&S committee that serves to issue permanent agenda items (Bohle and Quinlan, 2000).

The workplace system has a communication channel that works to give and receive information in a to and fro manner. There is an established workplace OH&S committee. It comprises the regional area manager, the general manager from the OH&S executive team, and an elected or a nominated representative. It communicates information o local issues and issues affecting the local executive management team. The committee oversees the operations of shared and discrete locations.

There is also an established business unit OH&S committee. It has the authority to elect its chairman. It is attended by the senior business manager and an elected representative. It also communicates information o local issues and issues affecting the local executive management team. The committee oversees the smooth running of the technical services, power networks, and water services and promotes all the operations.
