Extract of sample "Economic Empowerment"

The paper "Inefficient Laws and Bad Governance" is an outstanding example of a scholarship essay on law. Dear Scholarship Committee, I am a graduate from the New Law College, an affiliate to Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed The was a five-year course where I majored in the law of contracts, business law, banking, and insurance law, property law, income tax, and corporate law. I graduated with a 72% performance index and secured a second position with the first division in the University 2010.  I also recently completed a postgraduate degree, which ran from September 2011 to September 2012, at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The course modules included Law of Corporate Finance, Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring in Europe, Financial Law, European Monetary and Financial Services Law, and Corporate and Financial Crime.I have had legal experience with Niamh Moloney, Professor of Financial Markets Law, LSE a Member of the European Securities Market Association and as an Advisory Member of the UK Financial Services Authority as a research assistant since October 2011 to date. I also worked with the European Commission and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Delhi, India.

Last but not least, I have had many internship opportunities.I have had many insights that have served as an eye-opener over the need to further my education. After countless hours of surfing the web, and with good luck, I found an advert on your college website inviting applications from qualified individuals for masters’ scholarship program. From my childhood, in my lower grades of learning, I’ve always known what I wanted to do with my life. Economic empowerment has always been a passion of mine, and in particular, becoming a regulator has interested me the more.

Dedicating my life to improving the lives of others is very appealing to me. After my master’s degree, I plan to further my studies to attain my career dream as a regulator. My passion for regulation developed gradually during my upbringing. Here is a little information about myself. I am very hard working and serious with my studies as is clear from my undergraduate performance. Moreover, I am a good team player as I have learned the importance through the earlier mentioned working experience and thus would qualify for research involving groups.

I have had leadership responsibilities as indicated by my CV through which I have learned to unearth creative solutions to challenges, organize my experiences in the community for the purposes of both engagement and reflection, and socially navigate among diverse personalities and power differences. These traits will allow me to succeed in diverse situations while studying at your college.Personal hardships that I have faced in my journey towards my career dream are the main reason why I seek for the scholarship with your college.

There are two happenings that occurred in my life and have greatly influenced me to pursue a dream of becoming a regulator: Firstly, in my early childhood, my guardian grandmother fell ill. She was wrongly diagnosed and as a result, has suffered lifetime paralysis. I was 18 years old when I decided to be my father’s research aid as he filed a case in consumer court. However, we lost the case. My grandmother ultimately succumbed to the condition and this greatly shook my family. My father’s business collapsed and that marked the start of our financial crisis.

This has affected my education greatly.Secondly, in the different times I worked, it was clear to me that people pass through untold painful ordeals as a result of inefficient laws and bad governance. These instances amongst many others have motivated me to pursue my dream of becoming a regulator. An opportunity can never be priced but there is always a certain premium to education that must be paid. I can only present to you on an individual level as to why I deserve the scholarship. The chance that would be offered to me if granted this scholarship would represent a rare possibility and an honor not only for me personally but also for my state, by contributing with professionally trained experts.

The trust given to me would be compensated with strong ambition and hard work. I have liked the reputation of your college all through, thus I sincerely hope that you will give me this live opportunity to further my studies there in the commencing academic year 2013.I believe that all students are deserving of a scholarship regardless of their financial necessity or their academic merits. I also believe that we all have put an enormous amount of time and work in order to get to this place. Over and above this, my leadership roles, my internship, and personal hardships make me a perfect candidate for your scholarship program.

I would thank those giving their time to evaluate our necessity for the scholarship and more importantly, those who make the scholarships available. Last but not least, there are a few queries I would like to make. When is your academic year planned to commence? To what extent do you cover the tuition fee, as it wasn’t clear on your advert? I would also be interested to know whether you cater to beneficiaries' transport fees. I look forward to hearing back from your office. I have attached a copy of my resume with this letter.

Enclosed, you will also find my application form, undergraduate certificate, letters of recommendation, and other pertinent information for your consideration.Thank you for taking the time to consider this application for the scholarship. Yours faithfully,
