"Metastatic Cancer" is a great example of perfect example of a paper on cancer. The condition of cancer is that a certain part of the body begins to reproduce cells uncontrollably. The cancer cell has the capability to invade nearby cells and spread through the bloodstream which can damage other organs of the body.   According to (NHS,2010) “Cancer sometimes begins in one part of the body before spreading to other areas. This process is known as metastasis”.
  1. What is an atypical presentation of this condition or disease?

The atypical presentation of cancer includes fatigue, loss of weight, dizziness, bleeding, and lack of appetite.

  1. What is your belief in medication?

Medication can be allowed only after the correct diagnosis of the disease.

  1. Initial assessment of the disease
  • Taking the history of the pain, assessment of the intensity of the pain and character. As per (Campbell,2010)“Both acute and chronic pain has been well documented as one of the most frequent and distressing symptoms in cancer, and has been shown to adversely affect the quality of life”.

  • Progression of disease
  • Cause of pain.
  1. Five belief domains and four components of chronic care of adults
  • Belief – The trust the patient has in the health care provider and the treatment. The collaborative behavior of the older adult with the health care provider. The adherence of the patient to the treatment process. The ability and readiness of the older adult to adhere to the care plan.
  • Expectations – The trust the older adult has in the cure of the disease and in the effectiveness of the treatment. The collaboration of the older adult with the goals and mission of the health care provider. The adherence of the older adult to the self-efficacy and exercised treatment program. The potential of the care plans to meet the requirements and satisfaction of older adults.
  • Language - The trust the older adult have in perceiving the language of the health care professionals. The collaborative potential of the language between the older adult and medical professional. The adherence of the older patient to language consistently and understanding of treatment guidelines. Understanding the care plans effectively and completely.
  • Health Literacy – The trust of the older adult about the details of the disease like the viruses or bacteria causing it. The collaborative attitude of the older patient which brings in satisfaction and reduces risk of non adherence.The adherence of older adults to the treatment regime and understanding its effect on health. The understanding of the older adult about the nature of health care services. According to (Safeer,2005)“Inadequate health literacy can result in difficulty accessing health care, following instructions from a physician, and taking medication properly”.
  • Mistrust – The lack of trust of older adults in the complexities and vulnerabilities of health care service. The lack of trust in collaborating with the health care professional and treatment program. The non –cooperation of the older adult in adhering with the medical service and guidelines. The loss of trust in the care plans provided by the health care provider.
