'Kinesiology: The Experience after Doing Tai Chi Chuan' is a great example of a paper on fitness and exercise.
Originating from China, Tai Chi Chuan is a martial arts form that uses slow-motion exercises in order to improve health and wellness and is used for relaxation of the body, mind, and soul. Due to its various benefits, it has gained popularity around the world and that is why one of my friends recommended me to attend Tai Chi Chuan classes from a renowned instructor. My friend had previously suffered from depression as she lost her mother and she showed rapid improvements after having taken Tai Chi Chuan classes. We met a few days ago where I told her about my insomnia after which she advised me to attend Tai Chi Chuan classes.

I had been having sleep issues for a few months. I had trouble falling asleep as it took too long for me to actually fall asleep or I was just not able to sleep well which was becoming quite frustrating. I was positive about taking Tai Chi Chuan classes after one of my friends recommended me a good instructor. Tai Chi Chuan has been described as “medication in motion” by the Harvard Health Publications due to its immense health benefits (“The Health Benefits of Tai Chi”, 2009) as it possesses the ability to remove illnesses and promote wellness. Its slow movement exercises increase strength, flexibility, balance, and aerobic conditioning (“The Health Benefits of Tai Chi”, 2009). Only after a few days of attending Tai Chi classes, I could notice a marked improvement in my condition. I was able to sleep well and that is why I felt fresh and active after I woke up. My performance in studies also increased as I was able to retain information better than I used to.

It is better to refer to a doctor and then talk to the instructor for a particular disease-related improvement. After instructions and formal classes start, one must gauge their performance as by this time most people are aware of their improvements (“The Health Benefits of Tai Chi”, 2009). In order to do better at Tai Chi, the instructions should be followed in class along with practices at home so as to encourage faster recovery from illness. By performing specific Tai Chi maneuvers for particular diseases, it helps to improve the overall wellbeing of an individual. A large number of students attending Tai Chi Chuan classes are those who are suffering from a particular disease or are thereafter having undergone surgery (Brown, 2010). According to the HMS instructor  Marie-Helene Jouvin, Tai Chi goes beyond the classroom and can even be performed on the bed when a person is sick (Brown, 2010).

My experience of doing Tai Chi has been great as I was able to notice improvements instantly. I can say that I have recovered from my insomnia and I do not have to lie in bed hoping to fall asleep. Not only have I shown improvements in sleep but I have also built inner strength and a sense of harmony within myself.
