Though initially, I found it boring but subsequently, it was very enlightening as it helped me to get familiar with the medicines and medical accessories and instruments that are used in different areas of medicine. It helped me to make invoices and following up with insurers hugely helped me to understand the procedure of health insurance. Moreover, experience at medical billing was useful as it helped me develop accounting and administrative skills which could be utilized in medical consultancies and hospitals where patients’ medical billing requires extensive knowledge of insurance procedures and understanding of insurance details.

My work exposure at an international call center exposed me to an exciting array of work areas where my expertise in healthcare was fully exploited. Experience in the medical referral area was quite exciting and knowledgeable as the patients were often at a critical stage and required immediate referral to the nearest healthcare unit which could provide quality and expert care immediately. The work required extensive knowledge of hospitals worldwide and a comprehensive understanding of the use of computers. The experience equipped me with a wider understanding of hospital administrations and how patients are referred for better care. Most importantly, I could use my medical knowledge to better understand the seriousness of the case and refer to the appropriate areas of medicine.

When I worked in the call section of medical evacuation, I found it quite intimidating because the injured patients/ clients often required not only the best medical facilities on outstation or foreign location but they also needed transport, equipment, and personals needed to evacuate them to a nearest medical facility that could provide the fast and efficient care. Moreover, in the case of death in a foreign location, the funeral homes needed to be located for preparing the mortal remains for transport, getting proper documentation, arranging shipment, paying for transport, etc. The exposure to medical evacuation therefore equipped me with administrative and managerial skills along with the awareness of medical facilities across the world having expertise in different areas of medicine.
