‘Snow White and the seven dwarfs’ proved to be a landmark in the world of cinema by creating a magical experience on screen by bringing together the latest technology and art in making of the film. A movie can achieve an honorable place in the film history only when it exceeds the expectations in every aspect of the movie and crosses the barrier of time, class, culture, age and language. ‘Snow White and the seven dwarfs’, with its unforgettable characters, beautiful colors, classic songs and super technology, became successful in bagging an honorable place in the history of American film industry.

It was the highest grossing film in America until ‘Gone with the wind’. It is one of the two animation movies which were named as America’s greatest 100 movies by American Film Institute. Walt Disney was awarded an Academy honorary award for significant contribution in screen innovation and for pioneering a new entertainment field. He was awarded one full-size Oscar statuette and seven miniature statuettes symbolizing Snow White and seven dwarfs. What went into making of the move was dedication, hard work, innovative techniques and courage to do something that was never done before.

‘Snow White and the seven dwarfs’ was the first full length animated feature film produced in America. It used a traditional animation technique in making a film, called the cel-animated technique, in which the artists draw the animation sequences directly on the transparent celluloid sheets. It took three years of production time to make the movie. It involved dedicated hard work by many artists and drawing experts from different fields to make this movie. It was no surprise that this movie went on to become a timeless classic.

Sergei Eisenstein, known as ‘Father of Montage’, described it as a greatest movie ever made. To get accolades from one of the most
