Extract of sample "Overture to Coriolan in C Major Concert"

I attended the Concert. My report is on a piece, Van Beethoven, performed by Grossmont Symphony Orchestra. The sound from the performers was impressive. The texture of this piece was polyphonic and homophonic. As the article stated, it was homophonic as there was a single voice that took the melodic interest. As the song continued to play, many voices joined into the piece making it become polyphony. Polyphony is when many voices combine two or more different melodic lines. The sounds play well with each other through some musical lines that went against each other making the piece counterpoint. The timber of this piece was the horns, trumpets, bass drums, and strings that play throughout the song and the horn that ended the song. These sounds gave this piece its tone (Estrella, para.1).

The harmony of this piece consisted of consonance and dissonance throughout the whole piece. It started off with a slow, relaxing, and soothing harmony making its consonant. As the article continued to play, more instruments were played, and the piece started to pick up, making the piece dissonant. Consonance and dissonance gave the song have a dramatic and soothing feel.

The melody of the composition is the memorable part tune of the song created by playing a series of notes one after another. The range, which is the different types of voices used in the piece, was wide as there was an enormous difference between the highest and the lowest points. The melodic shape was up and down as the notes were low at the piece began and ascended as the article continued. The motion of this piece started off conjunct but as the article continued to play, there was broad movement making it disjunct (Estrella.para.2).

The rhythm of the piece had a tempo element that indicates how fast or slow the piece is. The tempo at the beginning was slow, and later it became fast as the article went on. The piece had syncopation as there were some rhythms that made the tune offbeat. The meter of the song piece was a duple meter as each test was divided into two beats (Estrella, paras.4-5).

The growth composition of this piece was slow in the beginning but later became fast as the article continued to play. The music had different music for each stanza, had verses and a chorus. The piece played on a minor scale as it played faster and lower. The article structure was ABA.
I enjoyed attending this music concert. It was the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra Concert. The preparation of those performing was incredible, and the overall atmosphere in the venue was cheerful as the piece played.
