ROLE DEVELOPMENT PAPER (GRADUATE NURSING SCHOOL) Role Development Paper (Graduate Nursing School) I currentlypursue a perfect development of my career in my field if choice exceptionally. My clinical specialty is Graduate Student with a Professor of the Psychiatric Nursing Course at the University of South Carolina, Aiken. I have been performing a practicum for the past eight weeks to which I set my objectives and have made achievements as well. Just as in any other course, I would like to attain my graduation in July this year after successful completion of my practicum hours. This would assist me in the provision of the required proficiency in my field of choice and that is nurse educator in a Department of Education in the hospital. I believe that passion is the determinant for delivery in every profession and interest is the driving force. I am proficient in Psychiatric Nursing with extensive knowledge in mental distress management irrespective of age. I am dexterous in handling mental conditions such as schizophrenia and dementia among other psychiatric anomalies. My capacity in this profession is vast ranging from psychological therapies to psychiatric medication. Within my docket of operation in nursing I am capable of resolving challenging behavior as well as administering psychiatric medication among the public. As a nurse educator I will foster professionalism amongst my students through emphasizing on the accepted cord of conducts because in nursing the highest limits of ethics should prevail in this profession. The experience I attained from nursing profession altered the manner in which I thought concerning the profession. To be specific I obtained a different view from the notions that I had previously built from my basic understanding of occurrences. However, I don’t doubt the shift of my interest because it has been guided by personal interest that has accrued from my understanding. This is good because I appreciate myself for having learned and this is the best one can account for from learning. Indeed nursing enabled me to know much concerning health and care. I have learned the basic requirements of human and the necessities of a healthy life. Therefore, I would not like to compromise my understanding of health and assume a variant direction that can contradict my personality. My strengths would be having empathy and a loving heart. Compassion would assist me in behaving in a more humane way that accompanies no issues of ethics and integrity. In this professional course I would also possess the substantial gist of need for respect of individuals in spite of social and or financial status in the community. I treat everyone as though I would want my family treated. This simply means that I opt for the best in every situation for every person without discrimination. In the nursing faculty, I learned how to become a team player besides becoming a team leader. With this experience, I would be capable of managing my current field of interest without major challenges. The practicum has proved to be one of the technical part in my study even though it has also posed as the most significant process in my pursuit of interest exercise. Most of these challenges I realized throughout the practicum have prepared me on how to handle such problems in case they can occur during my career. I have been through the hands of different teachers and tutors with different experiences, passion and esteem. I ranked these facilitators differently and this means that some were better than of others according to my view. Thus I think that I know the best posture to take for the learners to pass through my classes and hope to deliver exceptionally in the new field. Now that I intend to join a different line of my duty to the teaching profession, I will miss all the good I obtained from the nursing faculty ranging from my sweet professor to the clients I served in the health care unit. Nonetheless, I believe that this is a transition step towards having a greater profession for I do believe that if I make passion my profession then my work will be a play. Therefore, I am confident that I will enjoy my work in the profession. I have main professional objectives that I intend to pursue after my graduation and which are comprehensive in nature.
