The care, Cure, Core Theory of Nursing was developed as a guideline to be used in promoting patient-centered care and better patient outcomes. Lydia Hall is credited for the theory has used her knowledge of nursing and psychiatry to develop the theory. The theory has the three C’s that are represented in three circles that are interconnected but independent of each other. All the three C’s are important in the fulfillment of better healthcare service. The core represents the patient that needs nursing care. The core has certain goals that are set by himself or herself. These goals represent the feelings or behavior that the patient or person exhibits, his belief systems, and cultural bearing (Johnson & Webber, 2010).

The cure is the nursing care or attention focused on the core by the nurses and other medical personnel. The cure must address all the needs of the patient and must be consistent with the patient’s goals. The care is the circle that explains the roles that nurses and other medical practitioners have in terms of enabling the cure to occur. The medical personnel has a major role to play in ensuring that the cure happens because, despite the fact that the core has goals, the medical personnel has to prepare the patient for the cure, ensure that they take medicine and take appropriate food and observe all the necessary conditions for the cure to occur (Parker & Smith, 2010).

The rationale for choosing this theory is that the theory focuses on three key important factors in healthcare that includes the patient, the process of offering care, and the personnel offering the care. This is an important theory as it links all the necessary aspects into one strong concept.

The theory works to support my proposed solution in the sense that it provides a framework for implementing the solution. The problem that the solution seeks to address is caused by factors that affect their practice. The problem affects both the patient and nurses directly and renders the cure ineffective. The solution seeks to address the problem by focusing on the three factors. Therefore, because the theory focuses on the three factors, it aligns with the solution, thereby providing the best framework to deal with the problem. This theory creates a relationship between the problem and the solution. This makes it easier to address the problem because all the key issues are brought together in the creation of a means to address the key issues in the problem (Nursing Theories, 2013).

I will incorporate the theory into the project by first providing an explanation of the manner in which the theory addresses healthcare problems generally and specifically in relation to the current problem. Secondly, I will link the theory to the problem and to the solution so that it can show the importance of the theory to the project. I will then use it as a framework that will guide towards developing the steps of implementing the solution to address the problem. The most important aspect of this will be to develop a rationale that shows the importance of the theory to the implementation of the solution.
