The two were queuing right before an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). I later realized that the father had to withdraw some money to cater for their shopping needs. The shopping mall was filled with shoppers who clad in summer attire. The two boys appeared to be caught up in all the fun-filled activities taking place within the mall. The queue was long, but moving smoothly. There were ice cream and candy fluff vendors in the next stall. The younger boy was intrigued by all the activities taking place and became restless.

He kept asking his father why they had to queue instead of going through the stalls and then getting the money later. They elder brother’s efforts, to explain to him that they needed the money to get all the good items in the mall, were in vain. The young boy stared at how the candy fluff machine produced all the candy fluffs. He stared at how other children “dug-into” their ice-cream and candy fluff. The boy began making attempts to free his hand from his father’s tight grip. His attempts appeared to amuse the people in the queue.

His father would not let go regardless of how hard his son tried. The elder brother was somehow irritated by his younger brother’s disturbance. He stared around the mall and noticed some pair of Nike shoes that would be efficient for his football training sessions. He began insisting on his father to get him one of them. His father showed him the shopping list that he had drafted, and the boy became angry. He started complaining to his father how a new pair of football shoes would boost his training sessions and probably earn him a slot in his school’s junior team.

His father made several attempts to explain to his elder son that they were on a fixed budget. The boy started explaining how the other members of the junior team had full soccer attire and that he would only be taken seriously if he acquired the football shoes.
