Extract of sample "Visionary Leadership"

The field of leadership is slowly witnessing changes with widespread importance being given towards the development of leadership skills so that the employees are able to better communicate and ensure better use of the resources and the achievement of the goals. This has increased the focus and made organizations give greater emphasis on developing communication between employees and consumers and also delegating roles and responsibilities along with authority so that the staff members are able to act in a manner which will help to prepare for the required resources which will ensure that the objectives are achieved. The paper thereby looks to explore the manner the concept of leadership has grown and the different traits and qualities which a leader demonstrates. In addition to it emphasis is laid on understanding the manner in which different leadership approaches are considered and based on the requirements of the organization an approach is selected which will help to achieve the goals and ensure that the long term productivity and the use of resources improves. This will thereby lead towards determining the manner in which the different traits and qualities of a leader will help towards the larger goals and will ensure that the organization is able to achieve its overall objectives in a better way. The aspect of leadership looks through finding techniques through which people look to consolidate the business position and ensures that the different skills of the employees are tapped so that the experience and expertise will help to ensure that the goals are achieved (Distributive, 2012). The concept of leadership looks to include different traits and finding out the different mechanism through which awareness can be created and facilities developed through which the different fundamentals are used so that business effectiveness can be gained and the business is able to use the different traits in the best possible manner. A study in the same direction shows that when a leader is able to create awareness among all the employees and the members both within and outside the organization are able to visualize the changes and ensure that all the efforts can be used in a manner through which the goals can be better achieved (Angelo, 2007). This is an aspect which is seen in the hotel industry as being able to create awareness will help to ensure that the resources provide maximum productivity to deal with the situation. The different type of leaders still requires that the leader looks towards finding out the different traits and using them so that the employees can be directed to achieve the goals. This will require that the leader is able to demonstrate skills like hard working, analytical, brilliant, lonely, and imaginative and risk takers (Yukl, 2009). This will ensure that the employees can be directed and made to understand the different directions and areas which they have to work on so that the purpose can be achieved. This will also help to build loyalty and ensure that all the people are able to work together and ensure a common purpose (James, 2006). Leadership will ensure that the business is able to work together and remove the differences which exist and will thereby ensure that the goals are achieved. The fact that leader looks towards motivating both the employees and self will help to develop a style through which the efforts will be better directed and the business will be able to get positive results (Yukl, 2009). This ensures that a pattern is developed through which the process can be generated where the leader is able to use his different qualities and will ensure that the business is able to garner positive results which will help the organization to be able to achieve the goals. The concept of leadership has thereby changed and looks towards including people and other resources so that the leader is able to use his traits which will thereby ensure that the goals can be easily achieved (Rondeau, 2010). This has thereby ensured that the different type of leaders look towards working on the same fundamentals through which self awareness can be created and the people can be directed through which the business will be able to use the resources in the most positive manner (Schermerhorn, 2011). The manner in which different concepts of leadership like transformational leader, charismatic leaders, transformational leader, and other forms and traits have developed has ensured that the organization looks towards finding out the leader that suits their requirements. This has brought widespread changes in the manner employees are entrusted the different task (Murray, 2010).This makes it imperative that the leader in any form and type is able to ensure that awareness is developed through which the efforts can be directed towards a common purpose. This has thereby made managers and leaders look towards working in a fashion where their traits are used in finding out the manner in which the business will be able to exercise best efforts and ensure that the overall objectives is achieved. The different form of leadership thereby ensures that the organization works in finding out the different traits which a leader should demonstrate based on the needs of the organization so that business is able to achieve its objectives in the most efficient manner. This has given rise to the concept of hierarchical and lateral and upward communication which looks towards ensuring that the leader through the different traits are able to garner maximum support for the business (Wright & Pangey, 2010). This thereby looks towards ensuring that the leader is able to invoke a positive response through which better awareness can be created and the overall objectives can be achieved. The fact the leadership looks at creating self awareness it will ensure that the performance gets enhanced and the organization is better directed towards the goal (Visser, 2000). This will ensure the require trust is generated and the business is able to deal with the entire situation which might arise. Leaders which look towards achieving the objectives and are task oriented further looks towards developing an environment which focuses on achieving the objectives. This type of leader looks towards using the different resources in a manner which is aimed at building a conducive environment and developing a mechanism through which the goals can be achieved. The different stimulations and exercises which has been carried out highlight that the business looks towards finding out the leader and the different traits which the leader should demonstrate based on the qualities which the organization requires (Dignum, Dignum & Sonenberg, 2006). This is seen in Western countries which looks towards ensuring that the leader are provided with different powers and have different leaders which looks towards working on the different agenda so that the overall objective of the business can be easily achieved. This ensures that the leader who works on every department is able to work on the different fundamentals and through which the business will be able to take better decisions (Schermerhorn, 2011). One form of leadership which is transformational leadership looks to match the output and results so that the bigger objectives of the business can be easily achieved (Bernie, 2010). This will ensure that the entire business is able to generate the required motivational skills among all its employees, customers and suppliers through which the organization will be able to deal with the different problems which has been presented and will be able to ensure that the different changes are easily met (Schermerhorn, 2011). Transformational form of leadership further looks towards ensuring that the different traits of the employees are identified and plans formulated so that the business is able to maximize the return and the organization is able to differentiate between the different goals and based on it direct their efforts towards accomplishing it (Heather, 2009). This will require that the leader looks towards dealing with the different functions like financial, human, legal and other factors so that decisions which are taken are better Leadership through relationship oriented and transformational nature looks towards finding out the manner in which leader looks towards ensuring that different relationship is developed which through the process will ensure that better relationship is fostered and will help to work in a coordinated manner. This aspect ensures that relationship oriented leaders look towards developing relationship throughout the organization and based on it look towards achieving the business objectives Task oriented leadership on the other hand focuses on looking towards ensuring that proper leadership traits are identified through which the business will be able to ensure that the task on hand is accomplished. This looks towards ensuring that the leader looks towards using a framework through which they are able to build a relationship which will ensure that the leader is able to influence the people to work towards the goal and ensure that the overall objective is aimed at delivering the best results. Thus, the different form of leadership looks to work on the different aspect which helps to find out the different personality traits which will ensure the best use of the resources. This helps in creating the required self awareness so that the efforts are better directed in a manner through which the contribution of each and every member is recognized. This will also help the leadership concept to be substantiated and differentiated as it will help to provide the most productive factors through which the organization will be able to contribute positively towards the growth of the business. Leadership thereby looks towards finding out the different factors based on which the contribution of the individual member will increase (Worral & Cooper, 2001). This will help to develop the different roles and responsibilities through which the different traits of the leader works towards the interest of the organization and helps to develop the required fundamentals through which better awareness can be generated. This will help to multiply the focus of each member and ensure that all the efforts are directed towards accomplishing the bigger picture. This will ensure that the employees are able to associate with the organization and develop a fundamental through which the employee will be able to increase their contribution towards the organization. This will bind the entire organization and ensure that all the different employees are able to work together and build responsibility and trust through which the organization will be able to function in the most productive manner and ensure that the business is able to work in a controlled manner (Schermerhorn, 2011). The different aspect of leadership has thereby further being developed and looks towards promoting a sense of shared leadership which looks to find out the best ideas and solutions through which the business will be able to fetch the most positive results for the organization (Bateman & Snell). This will help to develop an atmosphere where employees and the leader are able to come together and work in a manner which ensures long term prosperity and helps the business to be effective in using the resources in the most desired manner. This will thereby help to create different teams and determine the different paths and directions through which the business or the organization will be able to achieve its objectives. This will help in creating hierarchy within the organization and will help to generate a structure through which the business will be able to garner maximum long term efficiency. This will help to ensure that all the individual efforts will be better directed and controlled and will help to develop a mechanism through which the members will be able to contribute positively. This will thereby act as a method through which the organization will be able to ensure maximum support and ensure that the leader is able to shape the organization. The leader should be able to show high signs of visionary characteristics and should be able to deal with the situation in a manner that ensures the problem being identified in different ways so that the most favorable response which will ensure better use of the resources can be identified. This will further require that a visionary leader is able to show different traits which will ensure that the overall process and mechanism through which the leader is able to visualize things and contribute towards the organization improves. This area requires that the organization should display powerful leadership facets. This will help to create a positive environment for the whole organization including the leader and the employees. This shows that the success of an organization cannot be only attributed to a leader but is rather due to the collective attributes and talent that the entire organization has been able to demonstrate. This can be seen in case of Bill Gates who is the founder and chief executive officer of Microsoft but he along would have been unsuccessful in ensuring the success of the company. The company became successful because of the contribution of all employees that worked for his organization. This highlights the fact that all the employees of a certain organization have a considerable say in any change that might be taking place in the business and it is because of the contribution of all employees that the organization has been successful. This is true that the individual at the lowest level of management may not be as qualified as the one at the highest level but his contribution towards the success of the organization matters and is important. This thereby increases the role of the leader as it is his responsibility to ensure that all employees are provided the required authority based on their knowledge and skills. This will help to execute the task efficiently and will help to develop the required tools and strategies through which the project can be implemented successfully (Abell, Springer & Kamata, 2009). Visonary leadership thereby encourages employees at all levels to contribute and thereby also develops the skills of the employees. This helps the organization as they are able to ensure proper succession planning as this strategy helps the business to identify the talented people within the organization. This thereby helps them to understand the future potential talent and build employees for the future. This directs the human resource department in understanding the grey areas within the organization and based on it look towards hiring individuals so that the organization is able to meet its requirements and have a workforce which is able to contribute towards the larger goals of the business. Visonary leadership is thereby a new tool which is used by management to ensure that they are able to make widespread changes and ensure that an environment is created where the organization is able to make the workforce work together towards the common goal. This also ensures that the business is able to find the best method through which the problems can be sorted out and the business is able to develop loyalty and trust between the employees. This thereby ensures that the business is able to develop a strategy where the organization is able work out on the future requirements and based on it look towards developing a strategy which will help the business to contribute positively towards the goal and ensure that the resources are used in the most effective manner.
