Leadership is an aspect of business which looks towards getting the best out of the employees so that the business is able to achieve its goals. This will require that the leader demonstrates different traits and qualities based on the circumstances and organizational requirements so that better use of resources becomes possible. This has made leaders to be visionary who have an eye for the future and looks towards accomplishing the bigger goals. This essay looks to present the manner in which leaders act in different situations so that the employees can be directed and acted in a manner which will help to achieve the goals of the business. The essay further looks to present the different leadership types and qualities which have been identified and based on it looks towards presenting the factors which will help to determine the type of leader that the organization needs to look towards. This will help to present an important area which organization needs to focus on and should look towards adhering so that finding out the different traits and based on it develop the skills of the person so that the goals can be achieved. The paper thereby presents the different aspect of leadership and the manner they can influence the overall working and ensure better achievement of the goals. Different definitions of leadership has been put forwarded by different scholars and can be said as a process where the person looks towards using his traits and qualities in to pursue the individual goals in such a manner that the group goals are achieved and has to lead the group by setting examples (Greenleaf, 2003). This helps to determine the manner in which the concept of leadership has developed and looks towards determining the process through which the goals can be achieved. The different leadership style encompasses the manner the leader is able to associate himself with the outside world, the manner in which the leader is able to deal with different emergencies, the manner in which the leader is able to develop strategies through which the resources are mobilized and other important variables which help to determine the manner in which leadership style within the organization develops (Gardner, 2003). The style which a leader demonstrates in the leadership style is understood through his behavior both in the community and its relationship within and outside the organization. For example if the leader feels that he is superior and is jealous about his powers the same gets reflected in the culture of the organization which thereby results in shaping the leadership style which is prevalent in the organization. If the leader on the other hand is collaborative and open the same behavior will be demonstrated within the organization which will thereby result in shaping the manner the organization works and will ensure better use of the resources. Thus, the style of leadership determines an organization and it is important that the leadership style matches with the organizational requirements as it will help in the accomplishment of the mission. In case an autocratic leader is hired in a democratic environment it will lead towards disaster. In the same manner if a leader looks only at the bottom line it will lead towards demotivating the workforce which will thereby create an environment of distrust. This makes it wise that organization based on their operating style decide the leadership style that will fit them and look towards hiring the leader accordingly so that the performance of the organization gets shaped up. This has made the different leadership style focus on developing an organization through which the business is developed so that a model which will help to deliver superior performance can be identified. The fact that leaders have an influence on the organization and its surroundings it is important that the leadership style which is chosen goes with the requirements of the organization so that maximum benefit can be generated. This thereby requires that whatever be the leadership style that the organization demonstrates the most important is to highlight the different skills through which better use of the resources becomes possible. The most important aspect that the leader has to show is that the leader should be able to exercise power where he is able to guide the workforce and the resources in the most effective manner. This will require that the leader is able to visualize the manner in which the different services will be measured so that the organization is able to provide maximum incentive to the organization. Along with it the leader should be task oriented and should be able to demonstrate skills where they look towards ensuring that the efforts of all people are directed and controlled in a manner that will provide maximum productivity and will contribute towards the larger picture. The different leadership styles also propagates that the leader should be able to empower others in the organization to carry out the duties and responsibilities and should be able to bring the required changes through which efficiency within the system improves. This will require taking care of the workforce and looking towards motivating them and ensuring that all the resources which will enable the employees to be able to work towards a common purpose is developed. The different leadership styles thereby propagates the same and looks towards developing a mechanism through which the organization will be able to preserve the resources at the same bring the required transformation which will improve the overall level of functioning and help in the achievement of the goals. Thus the combination of the leader, the different traits that the leader demonstrates and the manner in which the organization works will determine the leadership style that is prevalent in the organization (Zaccaro and Klimoski, 2001). The characteristics of leadership gets reflected among the employees and participants has thereby helped to develop a relationship through which the organization is able to ensure that the leadership style provides maximum benefit over a longer period of time. The leadership style also look to incorporate the board, the decision style, procedures and programs based on which the organization will be able to ensure that the leadership style is reflected in the manner the work is being done. Different theories have helped to determine different leadership styles some of which are opposite to each other whereas some are continiuum from the others and based on the requirements the organization determine the style of working. This helps to determine the following working styles in leader Autocratic form of leadership is one where the leader looks towards working on all the aspect and is the decision maker and passes on order for the others to execute. It is a form of leadership where the leader acts as a major player and all the other resources and employees revolve around him. This form of leadership style is less prevalent as the manner in which the competition level has grown it has made the different organization look towards finding out traits in a leader which looks towards involving all (Weymes, 2005). This type of leadership can be effective in some situation but in most it leads towards creating distrust and fear among the employees within the organization. This form leads towards removing the attachment that employees have towards each other and makes people work for their own position which has an effect on the business prospects and results in wastage of resources and energy (Chrislip and Carl, 2005). This style of leadership is slowly becoming obsolete as organization prefers leaders who are able to develop people and pass on the authority to them so that the organization is able to work in the most effective manner. Another form of leadership which is prevalent is the managerial form of leadership where the leader acts as a manager and looks towards conducting the daily routine business of the organization. The leader here also looks towards developing relations and ensuring that the organization is able to perform smoothly by ensuring that the daily operations don’t face any difficulties. The major role of managerial leaders is to ensure that the basic infrastructure to support the daily activities is developed, the funding of the business is properly managed and the business is able to carry out its day to day operations in the most positive manner (Macchiavelli, 2008). This type of leadership has a positive influence on the organization as it results in creating a culture where the different employees feel comfortable. This helps to develop a feeling of trust and confidence and ensures that the employees become clear about their responsibilities. This helps the organization as this sort of leadership style looks towards ensuring that the organization is able to develop the required fundamentals through which the business will be able to mamage their operations and ensure that overall productivity for the organization increases. A democratic form of leadership style is where the leader looks towards giving value to the employees and the other human resources as he realizes that the organization is nothing without them. This type of leadership looks towards developing the skills of the employees and entrusting them with more and more responsibilities so that they are able to achieve both the individual and group goals. In addition to it democratic from of leadership also ensures that the organization is able to develop leaders within the organization that looks into the smaller aspects of the business and ensures that the overall effectiveness is using the resources is gained (Wheatley, 2001). This type of leadership thereby ensures the best result for the organization as it helps to develop a culture which is friendly and where people look to work together. This helps to ensure that the bigger goals are considered and the organization looks towards using the resources in such a manner that the overall process gains effectiveness and the organization is able to deliver superior performances. Another form of leadership style which is quite prevalent is the collaborative form of leadership style which is continuous form of democratic leadership. This form of leadership looks towards collaborative efforts of every people and resources to be able to achieve the goals and looks towards mutual cooperation of each and every person. This type of leadership looks towards developing the skills of the employees and entrusting them with more and more responsibilities so that they are able to achieve both the individual and group goals. In addition to it leadership also ensures that the organization is able to develop leaders within the organization that looks into the smaller aspects of the business and ensures that the overall effectiveness is using the resources is gained (Bass, 2005). This has further resulted in the development of different style of leadership which is as transformational and transactional form of leadership which is as Transactional form of leadership looks towards ensuring that the leader looks at people as process and steps through which the bigger picture can be achieved (Gardener, 2008). This form of leadership thereby looks towards transaction and looks towards rewards, punishment, exchanges and other forms between the leader and the followers so that the organization is able to use the resources in the most productive manner. This ensures that the business is able to garner the required efficiency through which the business is able to find out the different areas which have to be developed so that the business is able to work towards better use of the resources and the achievement of the objectives in the most efficient manner. Transformational form of leadership looks towards innovation and development of new ways through which the business will be able to generate a mechanism which helps to accomplish the mission in a better way (Gardner, 2006). This form looks towards finding ways to improve the process in which the work is carried out and is aimed at developing the overall process which will help the organization to be able to work in a better way. This makes it wise that organization based on their operating style decide the leadership style that will fit them and look towards hiring the leader accordingly so that the performance of the organization gets shaped up. This makes it important that the organization is able to decide the form of leadership and style which will suit them and need to look towards choosing leaders which will help them achieve their mission in the most effective manner. This highlights that a collaborative leadership shows transformational leadership skills will be favored by organizations because of the fact that the leader will be able to use the resources in the most productive manner. This type of leadership looks towards developing the skills of the employees and entrusting them with more and more responsibilities so that they are able to achieve both the individual and group goals. In addition to it leadership also ensures that the organization is able to develop leaders within the organization that looks into the smaller aspects of the business and ensures that the overall effectiveness is using the resources is gained (Burns, 2005). Despite, the different traits and type of leadership skills that different leaders look to demonstrate it is important that the business looks towards identifying the manner in which the organization is able to determine the form of leadership which will help to gain maximum advantage. This will thereby ensure that the business is able to develop the required skills through which the organization will be better placed in using the resources and ensuring that the organization is able to gain effectiveness and ensuring that the bigger picture of organization is achieved. Thus, the paper looks towards presenting the manner in which a leader contributes towards the goals and the different leadership skills and types which organization needs uses. This makes it important that organization identifies the skills which will help them to accomplish their goals in the most effective manner. The paper thereby presents the different aspect of leadership and the manner they can influence the overall working and ensure better achievement of the goals and ensure that the resources of the organization are used in the most productive manner.
