System Design Author’s Name Class Name Professor’s Name School City and State Date Introduction Inventory management is very important, for any manufacturing and retail company. It has the ability to make or destroy the company has it involve managing the company most valuable assets (Talavera et al., 2015). Stock control or what is known as inventory management and control help in showing the amount of inventory an organization have at any one given time and to track all produced stocks. For Health and Beauty Company, which has a retail chain of over 200 large shop and chemistry? The company maintains records of over 15000 different and distinct products. The current stock management system involves use of bar codes which are done manually with the warehouse staff. It consumes much time and makes the department inefficient and ineffective (Zhong et al., 2013). The number of outlets and the range of products are increasing all the time and the company is now experiencing difficulties with its merchandising hence need for new automated inventory control system. Proficient stock controls empowers the organization to have the perfect measure of stock in the correct spot at the ideal time, it guarantees that capital is not tied up superfluously and ensures generation if the issues emerge with the inventory network. With growing number of product produced by the company and increased number of outlets and customers, the current system has failed terribly in helping to management and control customer demands hence an increasing number of customer complaints about slow service and the unavailability of some Health & Beauty products which needs to be fixed. This makes the establishment of new system very essential. Gantt No Task Duration Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday 1 Task A                                              2 Task B                                              3 Task C                              4 Task D                                                              5 Task E             Some of the basic information required to establish the necessary details for the new system data requirements include names of all customers and the name of product to be produced. These should allow room for new product and new customer to be established in the system. The two suitable methods to be used to get these will be through interviewing the customer to help identify the shortcomings of the current system and the problem exposure and secondly record inspection to help identify the gap. The new system to be developed should be all inclusive and customer interactive. System Requirements Some of the necessary requirements for the new system which should be considered include:- Multiple prices for different items Automatic update, selecting group of items to update, single item update Ability of the item to adapt to ever changing needs of the organization Quality control and group following Integration with different bundles Multiple clients in the meantime Questions a) How many product to you handle in your organization? b) Do you think the number of product will increase or not? c) Do you think automatic updates are necessary in the stock level? d) Should the update be from selecting group of items to update, single item update? e) Should the new system integrate with other software or not? f) Should it have single user or multiple users? In situations where customer experiences a defect or has some complains concerning a particular product, they would call direct to customer service department for that complain. These should be captured in the new system and well elaborated so that above areas in questions is covered. Produce the logical design specification From the idea of conventional standardized tag frameworks, the curious thing ID number is normally imprinted on the glue sticker and glued on the required thing. This is done at a vital point where the following framework should be posted with a development, a man outputs the standardized tag with an infra-red or laser based standardized identification scanner (Dai et al., 2015). The information from the standardized identification is bolstered into the framework which the procedures the data and record the area data of the thing. In the new framework to be introduced that is RFID framework each of the item created will be fitted with a RFID tag. This is fundamentally an electronic radio transmitter involving microchip and something like reception apparatus and little battery and all these will be created in a dainty plastic sheet. This empowers it to be effortlessly connected to things straightforwardly and can likewise be fitted inside character cards and put on individuals. The figure above shows a sample design of the same. Each of the FRID tag has a couple of bytes of memory which is based on to it and contains it’s one of a kind recognizable proof number and it intermittently conveys a radio signs discharged by every tag when it goes into its radio rand and deciphers the distinguishing proof number. The RFID labels that are fueled inside a modest battery great and can be perused from a separation as high as 100 feet. The location extent can be effectively balanced and this will be useful for robotizing the framework inside the organization (Azevedo, Prata and Fazendeiro 2014). This tock development programming can likewise be effectively incorporated with other programming to help in handling solicitations and following client grumbles. System Architecture The RFID based stock and stock administration arrangement by and large uses straightforward yet adaptable engineering for the RFID subsystem to address the issues of different applications. Various programming segments are utilized to help in smooth handling of the RFID label data and help in food the obliged data to the stock administration arrangement. From the design, a number of readers are placed within the enterprise. Each reader defines an area in the enterprise. Data is then captured by the readers and are sent to software called concentrator. A simple design on how the design works can be shown below Different software platforms can be used in with this application like SQL among others. Output data Specification From the specification, printers, and scanners will be attached to the computers to help in generating the output which can be easily tracked by the management and can be produced in hard copy (Azevedo, Prata & Fazendeiro 2014). The data produced will be able to track number of items produced, items in the warehouse and items which has been released to different retailers by name and number. This will be useful in tracking customer orders one which has been dispatched and ones waiting to be dispatched. Customer complains can also be easily managed with this system.
