The paper "Effectiveness of Strategic Evaluation Tools on the Continuity of Internal Operations" is a perfect example of a management research paper. Chapter two presented the use of strategic tools in general and the process of strategic planning in organizations, particularly in the public sector and the importance of these strategic evaluation tools. Chapter two also discussed, in detail, the four main strategic evaluation tools: Value Chain Analysis, Porter’ s Five Forces, SWOT Analysis, Balanced Scorecard Analysis, Scenario Analysis, and PEST Analysis. It also explained internal continuity with an emphasis on studies that examine the effects of carrying out strategizing activities.
The chapter also had an in-depth look at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and how best it can put into use the various strategic evaluation tools. The chapter finally discussed the theoretical background of the present study, including neo-institutional theory and research into cultural influences. In this chapter the following areas of the research are addressed: 1. Restating and expanding on the objectives2. The semi-structured qualitative interviewing technique is examined3. Thus, this chapter is structured as follows: 1. Section 3.1.1 explains the research pyramid. 2. Section 3.1.2 brings out the justification for using qualitative method approach3.
Section 3.1.3 discusses different philosophical assumptions that support the study. 4. Section 3.2 examines the research design. 5. Section 3.3 reflects the research location. 6. Section 3.4 ethical consideration is examined in this section7. Section 3.5 data collection methods are discussed here. 8. Section 3.6 method of data analysis. 9. Section 3.7 Summary and conclusion. 3.1.1 The research pyramid. In section 3.1.1, it helps in explaining the research pyramid which is designed in a graphical manner to represent the “ research ladder” . It shows the various steps in the ladder which the research was based on when ascending to the top consequently, achieving the study objectives.
This research pyramid was presented to help in providing an overview of the assumptions, methods and the general methodology applied in the study to the reader. A research pyramid helps serve as a guide that helps the researcher in maintaining focus throughout the research.
