Rainbow It was a sunny day that reflected our cheery mood because today, we had received our exam results. I had passed with flying colours and was looking forward to pursuing higher education in medicine. In fact, all my four friends had also passed with distinction and all of us had got admission in the same medical college. The clear weather, gentle wind and daffodils were all telling us that it is not merely a coincidence but a blessing of the God who rejoices in our success. Holding hands, we went to Dominoes and had the largest Pizza along with diet Coke.

Really, Chrissy! Pizza and diet Coke! We laughed and chorused yeahhh. The whole world looked happy. We laughed again and decided to go to the lake. This was a memorable day and deserved to be treated as such! As soon as we reached the lake, sudden dark clouds came as bad omen. The sudden change of weather had spoiled our fun but we persisted and stayed at the park. It had started raining and the unexpected downpour had people running helter-skelter. Suddenly, I heard a piercing scream of a woman; I turned and was shocked to see that a small child had slipped into the lake.

The mother had jumped after her child. We ran after them into the water, holding each other’s’ hand in chain. Luckily the child had got entangled in the weeds. It was a slippery path but we held on to the mother who retrieved the child and we all tugged them back to safety. We all trudged back to the nearby restaurant. Our spirits were revived and kicking for more adventure. As we sipped our tea along with hot burger, we saw that sun had come out along with a very big and bright rainbow. Indeed, a good omen.
