In this sense, this paper provides a proposal plan for procuring the Product Management System via an account of Pocket Doctor Incorporation. The system will aid to track and monitor signs in customers and streamline the process of order fulfillment and returns. Introduction The project plan lays major emphasis on procuring the development of a product management system for Pocket Document Incorporation (PDI) This is aimed at playing a very vital role in integrating a quality software module, which will add significant functional efficiency in the current web based retail and monitoring business. Thus, Target Software Solutions Limited presents this request for proposal to develop a project plan for the targeted Product Management System (PMS). Background Information Pocket Doctor Incorporation (PDI) was founded in the year 2011. It provides products for helping patients that suffer from respiratory and cardiac problems. Using an advanced Pebble E-paper watch, the company has significantly been successfully in monitoring vital signs in their customers, which performs continuous analysis of a wearer’s indicators changes on the medical condition. It also provides onscreen medical advisory services for the patients. In case of fluctuations in the desired ranges, immediate contact is made to the assigned users such as the wearer or next of kin. On the other hand, Target Software Solutions Limited is one of the high quality software delivery companies located in downtown Peterborough (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). It is vital to note that Target Software Solutions Limited was founded in the year 2011 and is currently composed of a limited number of ten (10) employees. It has well established and competitive reputation in the sector of delivery of technology based services for healthcare centres and other business solutions. Reasons It is essential to outline that make Target Software Solutions Limited has for the last four years been playing an indispensable role in the delivery of quality software solutions for organizations. The company possesses proficient knowledge in computer programming languages such as C#, Java, HTML and most importantly web development using the ASP.Net framework (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Furthermore, a key strength at Target is the ability to develop and integrate systems over the cloud network to provide much needed efficiency in using components such as the Global Positioning System. In addition, using unique expertise in development of virtual private networks, Target Solutions have always been of high security and free from any unauthorized access (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Purpose of the Project This project is aimed at developing a product management system for enhancing efficiency in the day to day operations of the current Pocket Doctor System. The Product Management module will play a very important role in improving the ability to monitor a patient’s Medical condition and track the order fulfillment and returns for rejuvenation (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Project Scope It is vital to note that the project scope is as stipulated below. In simple terms, the project is focused at coming up with a quality system that will provide efficiency in monitoring vital customer signs and streamline the fulfillment of orders and returns (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). On this basis, the project is to integrate shipping of products to customers using the FedEx Shipping System. A module should also be integrated for customers to manage their respective accounts and maintain a documentation of the products returned. In addition, the system has to provide an interface to interact with the monitoring centre. Lastly but certainly not the least, it should provide a bird’s eye view for the management of product inventory and services (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Among the key stakeholders for this system are the development at Target Solutions along with representatives from the PDI and patients. The Sponsor of this project, who is, the Pocket Doctor Incorporation, is a very important stakeholder in its smooth execution (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Risk assessment There exists a considerable set of risk factors that have to be put into close consideration. The assessment of these risks is a fundamental requirement to avoid issues such as scope creep, late project delivery or project failure (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Firstly, project risk is a crucial subject of concern specifically on the aspect of delivering the exact one within the right time frame. It is therefore essential that the implementation of the project lays major emphasis on a well-planned delivery procedure for each function of the project. Product risk is about the ability of to come up with a system that satisfies the targeted functional requirements and flexible. To mitigate this risk, it is important that component based development is initiated to ensure that each of the targeted component is delivered with the right functional features (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Thirdly, business risk can on occur when the project is not able to satisfy a crucial the set of business functions defined by the Sponsor. Mitigation of this risk will be achieved by closely involving the Sponsor in the requirements analysis process (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Technological risk is where the product does not meet some of the main functional characteristics of a standardized software such as compatibility. This can be mitigated by developing the product using the most recent software development platforms (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). People risks usually include situations where the targeted users (PDI representatives and Patients) render the project a failure. This can be mitigated by closely involving all of them in the product development process. Sixth, organization risks occur when the project ends up not meeting the expected organizational policies and goals. Consequently, the organization rejects the project. To mitigate this risk, it is essential that the goals and policies of the organization are put into close consideration . Lastly, tool risks entail conditions where the devices used have compatibility issues with one another. This risk can easily be mitigated by careful choice of tools that are compatible enough with one another (Shelly & Rosenblatt, 2012). Feasibility study The plan platform for the development of this project entails a number of phases, which will act as the building to successful achievement of the final product. It is crucial to stipulate that the estimated completion for this project is six (6) months. The milestones for each period are as stipulated in the Gantt chart below. The system will provide a very efficient mechanism for monitoring patient conditions. It will also play a significant role in tracking order fulfillment process and return of product for rejuvenation. In essence, through the use of the projected Product Management System, PDI patients will always enjoy high quality Medicare services. In addition, Pocket Doctor Incorporation will enjoy a well configured service delivery environment, which will not only raise its reputation in the healthcare industry but also increase profit levels.
